I've been following the story and the evidence seems a little shaky to me.
I find it quite interesting that he is out on bail while Assange remains locked up.
It doesn't seem to be related to the seriousness of the offense, I wonder what it does relate to. ;)

The absence of a motive, or nothing said yet, makes it so bizarre.
"A Swedish woman on honeymoon in South Africa with her British millionaire husband has been found dead following a carjacking incident outside of Cape Town."
So he was the one with the money, as Ranjit pointed out. The bail money was probably easy for him to come by considering his wealth.
Only motive I can think of (barring life insurance fraud) is perhaps the marriage soured right after the wedding and the groom got cold feet just a tad bit late. If he didn't have a pre-nup he may have assumed taking her out was cheaper than risking losing a fortune in divorce proceedings, and figured murder was his way out of his "Tiger and Elin"-ish dilemma. Lose a bunch to the wifey, or lose a little to a hitman. *shrug*
"The High Court heard that newly recovered CCTV footage showed Dewani having two meetings with Tongo on the eve of the murder. The next day two witnesses saw the men visiting a black market currency exchange, the hearing was told.
Mr Watson said: 'There is new evidence taken under oath that Mr Dewani exchanged $1,500 [£949] for South African rand on the morning of Saturday, November 13, at a black market currency dealer where no identity documents are required.'
The cash was described as a 'dirty fund' which Dewani could keep secret.
Mr Watson said: 'A further claim made by Tongo is that he went to the Cape Grace Hotel on November 16 and was handed 1,000 rand (£92) by Mr Dewani as payment for his wife's murder. That is also now supported by video footage. That video footage depicts Mr Tongo surreptitiously receiving a white plastic package
'An affidavit from Vinod Hindocha, the father-in-law, who was with Mr Dewani at that time, confirms that Mr Dewani left his company without explanation after receiving a call. That has been confirmed from telephone records.
'There can be no proper explanation for that transactions and the manner in which it was conducted.'
But Clare Montgomery QC said that any cash paid to Tongo was merely for his services as a driver and tour guide"
Why would you meet the driver 3 days after your wife has been murdered?????
