A teacher in Landskrona in southern Sweden who made racist comments to students two years ago has resigned.

He will remain employed until the end of the spring school term, after which he will be released from his duties, director of Landskrona municipality’s children and education committee, Tomas Johansson, told the TT news agency.

“The notice period is a bit longer than usual, but this is still the cheapest solution,” he said.

Among other statements, the teacher questioned the rights of immigrants to have children, according to a recording made by a student and recently broadcast by educational broadcaster UR's Skolfront programme.

The student made the recording two years ago and presented it to the school’s principal, resulting in the teacher being transferred to another school.

The programme also reported that the teacher's comment was not an isolated incident. According to a number of students, parents and former employees, several of the school's staff members had made xenophobic remarks to their students.

After the recording became public, questions were raised as to why the teacher had been allowed to keep working for the municipality.

Last week, Johansson said the teacher’s statements were unacceptable, but that it was doubtful whether employment regulations allowed for an incident to be reexamined two years after it took place.

Swedish schooling along with other European countries is the home of institutional racism, and European teachers are chicken racist. Bilingual Muslim children need state funded Muslim schools with bilingual Muslim teachers as role models during their developmental periods. There is no place for a non-Muslim child or a teacher in a Muslim school.

Bilingual Muslims children have a right, as much as any other faith group, to be taught their culture, languages and faith alongside a mainstream curriculum. More faith schools will be opened under sweeping reforms of the education system in England. There is a dire need for the growth of state funded Muslim schools to meet the growing needs and demands of the Muslim parents and children. Now the time has come that parents and community should take over the running of their local schools. Parent-run schools will give the diversity, the choice and the competition that the wealthy have in the private sector. Parents can perform a better job than the Local Authority because parents have a genuine vested interest. The Local Authority simply cannot be trusted.

No one is advocating the establishing of Shariah law in an non Muslim country . But should not Muslims like Jewish people be able to have their own religious weddings and divorces according to their own beliefs. It was Muslims in their own lands who first allowed non Muslims to be able to practice their own laws and this was enshrined in Islamic law nearly 1400 years ago . It was Muslims who gave shelter to the jews when they were thrown out of Europe during the inquistion and during pogroms. Muslims never burnt people alive or tortured them for their beliefs. Islam is not associated with denial of human rights - actually historically Islam provided documentation for human rights.

West is still racist, xenophobic and Islamophobic. It is unable to forget and forgive the seige of Vienna in 1683.

The so called terrorism in Islam is just like a 'mole-hill', when compared to a mountain of 'Western domination & terrorism'.

The so called "Western" Society has much larger & serious questions to answer than any Islamic Mulla or Islamic Extremist. When I see that Islam is being targeted as evil and barbaric - I cannot help but find what the so called 'Modern Western Civilization' has to offer - the worst things packaged in attractive sheets !

Mr. Ahmad, lets talk about these issues in the 27-28 majority Islamic states. What do the Egyptians do to Christians?? Rather frequently kill them as they have for decades. In which of the Islamic states can there be a Temple or a Jew or Christian in elected office or own real estate? There is you know, an Arab in the Israeli Knesset.

There is no such right as to be taught in one's language in a foreign country. Are Muslims willing to give up Takiyya, genital mutiliation, beheadings, amputations for theft, wife beating, honor killings, acid in the face of non-compliant females, refusals to fully educate females.

Hey, when you renounce these, lets talk. When you let non-Mullims have ordinary civil rights in your native countries, lets talk. Meanwhile go to CitizenWarrier.com and learn how your religion is imcompatable with the West. And yes, Mr. 'ppk' plain white people have rights too including to have their heritage preserved without justification, defensiveness or shame.

If all the other cultures are OK, white people's are too. Read INFILTRATION. In Denmark, Mulsims are 5% of the population and use 40% of welfare. In Sweeden atleast 50% of rapes are by Muslims. With stats like those just what right do you have to demand a thing of any host country. Stated another way, why would anyone want you around?

I guess both Ahmed and Kathleen are making wrong points. Ahmed can't argue that Muslims have been good. Muslims, like any faith groups, have bad and good people within themselves (you can name few of them now). The same holds for Christians and Jews. In Egypt, few violent individuals attacked Christians, but there are also many Muslims who formed human shield during the Copts Christmas. I think it is elementary to know that we have good and bad people in every religion. There are many Christians, Jews and others who believe in everyone's right (and of course there are stupid morons who believe in oppression of others who differ with them).

«It was Muslims who gave shelter to the jews when they were thrown out of Europe during the inquistion and during pogroms. Muslims never burnt people alive or tortured them for their beliefs. Islam is not associated with denial of human rights - actually historically Islam provided documentation for human rights.»

Virtually everything stated here is false. At least to Westerners, because these statements are a complete denial of historical truth, are actually complete inversions of the truth. But said statements are flattering to Islam, and that is the only standard for truth in the Muslim world. Therefore, they must be "true", they literally cannot be untrue.

I 'm not sure that Muslims are even aware that they are lying, because that would necessitate the realization that Islam can be wrong at times, a concept that is fundamentally inimical to the structure of Islamic reasoning.

It's really sad. Islamic scholars made the use of Western, Aristotelian logic punishable by death in the Middle Ages, and we see the effects of this to this very day.

And this is why it is almost always a waste of time to engage Muslims in any form of religious or philosophical event. They operate on a completely different of logical tools that we cannot understand.
