Rise in support for Sweden Democrats: poll

I am not suprised.

None of the problems on the ground are being tackled due to the ivory towers of the people in 08.

That in turn will feed extremism until the issues are actually faced up to.

This is newsworthy, but then again it's not. It certainly isn't surprising. Beginning with a certain O. Palme, and his "Kampfgruppen der Arbeiterklasse", Sweden has sunk ever deeper into a morass of chaos and lawlessness. Full responsibility must, in my opinion, be placed at the feet of this socialist dreck who, looking back, was a grave mistake in Sweden's history. I, for one, deeply regret that I did not vote for SD last time around, but will more than likely do so next time. The report says 6.3%. The real number is likely much higher. Let free and true information flow freely, unencumbered by ridiculuos, truth quelching, PC considerations!

the real number is much higher above 10%. this is the same story in many countries in europe and russia , uk, and usa. just now i read a news that in moskov muslims are beaten up by the security forces for no reason.

As Nemesis stated, until the current Government deal with th core issues that genuine people are concerned with, then the disaffected will continue to make their protest vote for SD. By that time, it may be too late and the SD could then swing the other way from today and cause other issues.

So, instead of accusing people of being racist or bigots (remember Gordon Brown mcirophone comment), tackle the legitimate issues head on and have an open discussion. This will expose the lies spouted by the real bigots, but help deal with peoples' real concerns. This fear of offending people is not just happening in Sweden, but right across Europe.

If you look at what America and the leaders of the west have done to many countries they have been into, the chaos they have created, the turmoil they have left many regions of the world in, 911 was a case of chickens coming home to roost.

If you want to take it to a racial level, who controls and runs the world? White men, they own the own the media that churns out the rubbish that brain washes people who cluelessly believe the deception, like a few of you here.

The media have for many years been successful at portraying blackmen as theives and drug dealer, and recent years muslims as terrorists.

Whilst the whitemen get away with murder, rape and pillage on a grandscale and it goes unreported in the media they run for their benefit, and it is justified because they hide behind democracy, the biggest threat to the world is not the muslim terrorist, it is the power hungry, evil whitemen that creat wars to make money or to plunder and loot a country for its natural resources, that is who is the biggest threat to man!

This is awful news! I am an apostate. You know...those folks born into Islam but who escape it despite the death penalty hanging over their heads. I see religions in general as evil, and Islam in particular. But Jimmy and his followers are the worst possible way to tackle this issue. They do it from a populist nationalist angle, that only serves to drive a wedge us. What Sweden needs is a secularist party. One that doesn't think Islamic veil is a no-no, but a nun's veil is alright.

Swedes are well known for their racism and xenophobia. In fact, the number of far-rights in Sweden is not 6% but closer to 50%, because the so-called Moderate Party is actually an analog of Le Pen's Front National. Don't bother. The battle cry of racists who don't realize they are in fact racist always begins, "I am married to a ...." " I have a friend who is..." And of course the best of all, "How can I be a racist? I'm a minority!" Chomsky just needs a higher dose of Xanax.

The Sweden Democrats and their supporters are not interested in "the truth" - they are only interested in identifying problems and producing evidence that they argue supports their contentions - well contention - that all problems in society are caused by immigrants in general and Muslims in particular.

When their "facts" are called into question by those who are actually eager to address problems instead of just apportion blame for them - they scream "PC" at all and sundry and refuse to amend their world view. A classic mistake that of finding facts to support a hypothesis and not using them to develop one.

Their arguments address two main areas:

economic - unemployment, taxes, priorities etc

and crime.

The fact is the vast majority of immigrants are in gainful employment - only marginally lower than "ethnic" Swedes,

and the vast majority of criminal acts are committed by "ethnic" Swedes.

This is not to say that 10% (14%) unemployment is not a problem it is. But blaming it all on a lax immigration policy (which is nonsense in the first case) is no way to address it.

And on their most recent issue - Islamic extremism - the security service (Säpo) has identified 200 people in a potential risk group in Sweden - of an immigrant population of over 1million.

They often no real solutions beyond tightening immigration. That's it, the sum of their labour market, crime and anti-terror policy. Real solutions that address the very real problems in Swedish society are totally absent.

If , Sweden , or any other european country is such a rasist place to be for muslims , why are they still coming??? why arent they heading for Dubai , Kuweit , Qatar, etc. Rich muslim countris where they feel like ho , accepted , or even improve their lifestyle.

OK - Whites enslaved blacks for 400 years. So what? It was whites ( the British Navy) that stopped the Atlantic slave trade and the sea-borne East African slave trade too. Blacks and Arabs enslaved Blacks for thousands of years and haven't stopped yet. You can buy a girl slave in Sudan for instance, for about 30 US dollars!

Saudi Arabia only officially banned slavery in 1960 but they still keep them. Why? Because the Koran says it's OK.

Then there's the nasty whites conquering most of Africa... about 800 years after the Arabs themselves had conquered most of it, invaded Europe and slaughtered their way across India.

The problem the world faces is that the Muslms are on the move again. They are invading the Western world and setting up colonies. The more the people in the ivory tower decide to just shout racist and ignore that there are some actual problems that need to be dealt with, the more support extremist parties will get.

They seem to forget that they are elected officals who were chosen to carry out the will of the people. They also chose to ignore that fact that the people also voted in SD members. It's their duty as politicians to work together with opposing parties to try and make the country a better place, not ignore, block and attempt to ban an entire party from discussions because they don't agree with their ideals. It's shameful that they act in this way and they shouldn't be surprised if support for more extreme parties continues to increase when they act they way they are.

Dave N in comment #38 also made a very good point. Every race and country have done things that are shameful and wrong. To continue to blame one race or group does nothing to help the situation. To ignore the bad things commited by your particular group / race in order to blame others is also wrong.

People need to stop playing victim and start taking responsibilty if the world is ever going to get better.

Your sympathy will mean absolutely nothing to me if you think I am asking for it. I know and have enough of my own personal experience of Sweden so do not jump into another issue by calling on me to leave. I am not one of those clinging on you your country; perhaps you feel so entitled to it?.

@ Zhorka: I think it's very worrying that you can make the same assumptions you are complaining about. Sweden has great tolerance and has admitted far too many Muslim immigrants who cannot be integrated.

The problems of Muslim immigrants in Europe is now not only widespread but well-known throughout France, Belgium, Denmark, Holland, the UK, etc. The religious and racial hatred towards Jews in the South of Sweden found strong support from Islamists and has been highlighted. Yet, it is something that unlike in Denmark, that does not get discussed even though we know it goes on.

I think that much more commitment to social and religious integration by immigrants in Sweden by Muslims would not only be more welcome - it would counteract the 'need' for the rise of such political parties. Muslims have moved to Sweden and must respect its laws and culture = NOT the other way round.

The fact is, is that mixed races don't work very well. Melting pots don't work. Just look at japan as an example of a nation without people problems. They simple don't let in other races, and if they do it is only for a short time. Borders laungage and culture are important in order to maintain who we are. We dilute ourselves when we allow to many outsiders in. Soon we are taken over by these new people who use our freedom to take it away from us. Political correctness is a mental disorder and slow suicide.

Man, there seems to be a lot of racist on here tonight. One would think all of the Old South, slave owning folks were commenting here.

By the way there is not such thing as melting pots, multicultural societies are more like stew pots where everyone mixes together to make a fine dish (country) but retain their individual flavors (cultures) to some degree. If they did not the dish (country) would be very boring - in that sense Japan is boring if you live there as long as I did. Although in Okinawa there is this great place for tacos, Charlie's Tacos! And the first square hamburger I ever had was there and not at Wendy's. And then in northern Japan I had my first boneless fried chicken, much better than McDonald's Chicken Bug-nuggets!!

According to the article; "The anti-immigration Sweden Democrats garnered 6.3 percent of voter support in Monday's poll by daily Dagens Nyheter (DN) and polling institute Synovate, up 1.7 percentage points from the last survey in December." Heck neither of those percentages are much more that a margin of error in most polls.

I do believe Sweden, and most countries for that matter, might take a lesson from Denmark's N.F.S. Grundtvig when it comes to honoring and protection all of our citizens. Citizens be they white, black, Lutheran, Catholic, Jewish, Muslim or just plain old heathens - or if they are natural or naturalized.

What's more interesting is where it will reach 'peak'. . The extent of the rise is what determines what that means for non-Europeans in Europe.
