A 67-year-old Swede, working as a teacher in Berlin, has been arrested on suspicion of abusing children.

The Swede is accused, among other things, of having taken advantage of children from catastrophe struck Haiti.

“He is suspected for a total of 20 cases, both in Germany and Haiti,” Martin Steltner, spokesperson for the Prosecutor's Office in Germany, told the Aftonbladet daily.

“Most of them occurred between 2002 and 2003, but a few of them at least happened as recent as last year,” he said.

The investigation of the 67-year-old has been going on for a week, Steltner said.

Another two people – a 57-year-old German and a 26-year-old Brazilian –were arrested earlier this week at Munich Airport when they illegally tried to bring an 11-year-old boy from Haiti to Germany.

According to German media, the Swedish man is tied to a network of paedophiles. He is suspected of being one of the brains behind the large smuggling operation. The real aim of the suspects was selling the children to Berlin paedophiles for sexual abuse, reports German newspaper the Berliner Morgenpost.

The Swede works for a school in Berlin. Together with the 57-year-old he has been a member of a help organization. Through that organization he has visited Haiti to support orphans there. The children, including boys between 11 and 12-years-old, were instead taken to Germany where they were exposed to sexual abuse.

The Swedish Foreign Ministry had no information about the arrested Swede Saturday night.

Good, but not enough, we need tough punishments, bring back good old days public hanging please.

Chemical castration would be a good option.
18:10 April 17, 2011 by StockholmSam
How about castration without chemicals? I would not be averse to using rusty scissors and no anesthesia.

Wow...couple of mean guys here.

What is wrong with some people? I recently spoke to someone who helped build a school there and got a first hand account of the suffering. And anyone who would add to the suffering of children that already suffered so much is mentally ill (remember they are orphans and probably lost their parents in the earthquake).

Hopefully the Germans punish them harshly.

@StockholmSam, why not? I even have a rusty box of personna74 razor blades I could donate for this purpose. .

I fully agree with you StockhomSam, chemical castration is much too lenient.

My heart goes out to those trusting and then abused children. This person and all persons with the same pedophile mentality need more than castration.they should be permanently removed from society.
