Sweden’s Social Democrats have edged past Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt’s Moderate Party, according to a new Novus opinion poll published on Sunday by Sveriges Radio.

The Social Democrats have reclaimed their traditional position as Sweden’s largest political party, with 33.2 percent of respondents favouring the party that governed Sweden for most of the last century. The Moderates saw their support slip back to 31.5 percent.

The result confirms a trend seen earlier this week in a separate Synovate survey, which also gave the Social Democrats a slight lead and provided a much-needed boost for recently appointed leader Håkan Juholt after the party’s catastrophic showing in the 2010 general election.

The May poll also showed a slight upsurge in support for the three junior partners in the four-party Alliance.

The Greens and the Left Party, by contrast, saw a dip in support. Both parties ran for election as part of a Social Democrat-led red-green coalition, which unravelled after the Alliance secured a second consecutive term in power.

The nationalist Sweden Democrats shed 0.5 points as they dropped to 5.4 percent.
Overall, the Alliance parties’ lead over the red-green bloc shrank to 0.6 points, with the centre-right polling 47.1 percent.

Novus interviewed 5,695 people for its May poll.

Novus poll, May 2011 (percentage change from April 2011 in parentheses)

Moderate Party 31.5 (-2.0)
Liberal Party 6.9 (+0.7)
Centre Party 5.0 (+0.4)
Christian Democrats 3.7 (+0.1)
Social Democrats 33.2 (+2.3)
Green Party 8.8 (-0.4)
Left Party 4.5 (-0.5)
Sweden Democrats 5.4 (-0.5)

There are two possible explanations to this story. 1) The social dems have infiltrated, and planted their operatives in Synovate and Novus, or 2) Both Synovate and Novus are already infested with lefties(Personally I beleive in the latter). For this appears to be nothing but a self serving edict unfounded in reality. No sane Swede can actually support this vipers' nest of thieves and manipulators whose mantra is the marxist "Shut Up And Do As I Tell You, I Know What's Best For You". The social dems are rotten to the core and consists of dictatorial, wannabe, some-more-equal-than-others, Walter Ulbrichts, who think they can boss us around and force us to hang the portrait of Karl Marx on our living room walls.. Raise taxes! Egalitarianism above all! Do you really listen to these sewer pipes? Not to mention how these socdems have succeeded in almost destroying the country from within, by flinging open the migration gates! Don't belive this story, Sweden has turned its back on the rats of the party of palme! See you at the polls.

Håkan Juholt seems the fotocopy of Stalin.

"Social Democrats have reclaimed their traditional position as Sweden's largest political party, with 33.2 percent of respondents favouring the party... . The Moderates saw their support slip back to 31.5 percent." - Local

So why does the displayed Novos poll show exactly the opposite?

Is there anyone in charge at TheLocal?

@Birbun

Hey, you may not accept a person*s politics, but to associate them, even by reference to one of the greatest mass murders in history is unfair.

@planet.sweden

The Local does not give a hoot about their grammar, accuracy of information, or anything else. They just slap out some kind of information on current stories. So many have complained (myself included) but it does no good. The Local will ALWAYS have bad editing on their articles and are committed to NEVER change that.

Haha... How in the hell did an entire article get written and published that says the exact opposite of the polling numbers referenced by said article????

Do the numbers have the typo?

Give them the power and Swedish economy will go down the drain with increased immigration, spending on "popularism" and other public issues. We will then be back to 1989/90 which was the apocalypse of the previous 50 years of ruling - give a few years with the right in power.

This dude is just a Stalin in disguise.

Definetly a manipuleted poll. It´s easy to control this kind of statistic and who controls the polls control the people´s mind.

I came here to make the Stalin comment, but it seems it wasn´t very original. What a person looks like is of course irrelevant, but still, I think it IS scary :S especially since they both come from the same line of thinking
10:21 May 30, 2011 by bs3eggs
when will swedes stop the 'tradition' of supporting the left when it is clearly not the right strategy for the country. This naive socialist view point seems to be rampant the second you leave the Stockholm suburbs maybe because everyone want to live on wellfare outside stockholm. Or is it just a throw back from the last half century?
11:55 May 30, 2011 by Great Scott
@Syftfel

I see you are foaming at the mouth again because you find it hard to except the truth. This is the opinon of the Swedish public, it's what they want. Now except it and get over it.

P.S.

I can just imagine you jumping up and down with steam coming from your ears, so funny.

So 1/3 of Sweden continues to live in the context of failed social experiements?

Perhaps one day they will wake up.
