Tornadoes leave northern Sweden reeling

Tornadoes and rough winds wreaked havoc yesterday in the north of Sweden on Saturday, tearing down a large number of trees.

One man in the northern province Västerbotten was seriously injured when a tree fell on top of him, and is now in intensive care.

"The number of fallen trees is probably the worst I've experienced in several years," Zakarias Juto, traffic controller at the Swedish Transport Administration (Trafikverket), told news agency TT.

The agency has received hundreds of calls reporting roads that are blocked due to fallen trees.

At worst, almost 15,000 of power company Vattenfall's customers in the provinces of Västerbotten and Norrbotten were without electricity.

On Sunday, thousands were still waiting for the power to return, including 2,400 of Vattenfall's customers, 425 of EON's customers and 2,280 of Skellefteå kraft's customers, reports regional newspaper Norran.

"In some areas our power lines are heavily damaged," Roger Lindmark, information officer at Vattenfall, said to TT.

"Poles have been tumbled over and trees have fallen on lines."

The thunderstorm was created as cold air from the west pushed out warmer air.

Tornadoes in connection with thunderstorms are not entirely unheard of in Sweden, according to meteorological institute SMHI.

"Several cases are observed every year, especially in the summer," confirmed Linnéa Rehn, meteorologist at SMHI.

Google and YouTube search "HAARP" and find out what is really going on!

I did not know that Sweden got tornadoes. Thought fallen trees, downed power lines, thunderstorms and floods were largely a midwestern America thing. Okay, not the floods so much. :(

This is warning siren that the show is about to begin. Pop your popcorn and get your favorite beverage ready and enjoy the show!

jokes about pop corn aside;

this is the reason why you see all the birds falling from the sky and the dead fish floating up. They are very sensitive to micro wavelengths and a certain species is just falling out of the sky by the thousands.

Don't you guys see what is going on?

It's created disasters to "make money" so they can manipulate currencies and crash countries' demise and fall

it's pure EVIL!

it is so unfathomable that it is hard to convince the general population of what is really going on

the media is doing all they can to cover it up with lies and false propaganda

Naah, it is not HAARPs doing. I was away during the weekend on account of my 50th birthday, leaving the Ctulhu temple unattended apart from the acolytes. And naturally they got the invocations wrong...

We are lucky northern Sweden is not chock-full of yoggoth or other monstrosities.

unwillingness to look and understand - leads to stupidity!

knowledge is cause and power!

do your own YouTube and Google search and find out what scientific evidence exist and is out there

by the way - tear that temple down and stop "praying" - it is 100% useless and ineffective.

The weather has been nuts in Minneapolis too. We had no spring. We went from being too cold (I had to use my oven as a heater all through May because the furnace was turned off,) to having two days this week with temperatures in the high 90s (we don't use metrics) only to have it be sweater weather again today. What we used to call the dog days of August (too high humidity) is now with us all summer long.

Something's afoot. Maybe Mother Nature has run out of patience with humans, because no matter how much we are told to curb greenhouse gasses, we miss the mark.

I believe weather if not climate is changing all over the world and not necessarily for the better. Humans are able to adapt to almost any situation but our current state of affairs is not heartening and doesn't bode well for the future. Countries such as Sweden and Norway are showing the world how to cut greenhouse gases and still live a first world existance. Plaudits to you, please keep up the good work.

@WHAT? - You ignorant fool, everyone knows it is the CHEMTRAILS!!! So stop HAARPing and get with the program!

@Dimetrodon61 - You ignorant fool! Leaving the acolytes in charge of the Temple?! We could have all been killed! Congrats on the big Five OH though.

Chased storms a lot in Minnesota but was only able to see funnels and not tomatoes (my daughter called them that). Then last year, here in Sweden, saw my first one and it was white because it was sucking water. Headed for my island but roped out before landfall.

After Joplin, other countries and states are facing the same fear with tornados. The only armor we can have against it is to be prepared at all times. Now many are homeless and they'll be lucky enough if they have homeowners insurance for financial aid. http://www.insuranceproviders.com/joplin-tornado-damage-photos/
