A man in his forties was killed Saturday night following a fight at a camp ground in Småland, in the south of Sweden.

The man was sitting in a car in the camping area, along with some others, when the group was attacked by several people.

During the altercation, the man was stabbed in the chest with an unknown object.

"Several people were involved in the attack on this man," Bengt Netterström, duty officer with the Jönköping County police, said to newspaper Aftonbladet.

The man was taken to a nearby hospital, but died from his injuries about an hour later.

Police first received reports of the stabbing just before midnight, and have since conducted a large number of interrogations throughout the night.

A forensic investigation of the crime scene has also been carried out, but a suspect is yet to be found for the crime.

The campground where the fight took place was the site of a large bikers' meet up taking place all weekend.

Roughly 5,000 bikers were in the area, as well as a large number of police officers.

"There was a lot of people affiliated with different motorcycle clubs attending, which was why we had a number of police officers there even before the event," Gunnar Rydholm of the Jönköping police told Aftonbladet.

The police have now commenced preliminary investigations of manslaughter.

Whats with the Hell's Angels picture?????
16:48 June 5, 2011 by infidel2012
The only 'Real' Bikers can be found in America. Swedish bikers are just basic wannabe Pussies.

Every time I see them trying to look tough, I have to keep from laughing out loud and remind myself that this is Sweden.

If the bikers here really wanted to do some good, how about taken care of the insurgent mussies taking away the Scandinavian culture.

Quit fighting amongst your fellow bikers and put the muscle in the right place, hey, it's for a good cause. Keep Sweden Clean.
16:59 June 5, 2011 by Brianito
I was thinking the same thing myself "Smokebox" ;) . Did they take a wrong turn on the Nullarbor?
17:07 June 5, 2011 by vladpootin
It is sooo true, that the Euro-Angel and any version of Euro biker is 94% wannabe. They accessorize themselves to try and look tuff - With the denim jackets, leather add-ons and patches... A few tattoos and just don't wash your hair for a few weeks.

It's no different than seeing some celeb-chick with a small dog or fancy purse...It's part of the identity and image. Yes, same goes for the "angry muslim" with the long beard and table cloth robe .

Dutch, German, Dane or Swede - if I see these guys I usually take their lunch money just for fun.
17:33 June 5, 2011 by ruimove
the guys saying that scandinavian bikers (the real ones not the old fat doctor with a HD) are "pussies" should say that to them next time you see them around town.
17:37 June 5, 2011 by Roy E
Hmmm, the photo is of Australian bikers. Something tells me they didn't road trip up to Sweden down under to make this news.

Yes, I know, good help is hard to find.
18:10 June 5, 2011 by wxman
I agree on the photo. Sometimes posting a file photo instead of actually going to a bike rally and taking pictures that are apropos to the article is easier for lazy journalists.
19:09 June 5, 2011 by Rick Methven
This meet is an annual event that used to be in Nässjö but has moved a few years ago to the High Chapparal theme park south of Jonköping.

With the new location I thought they would be riding horses and carrying six shooters instead of knives
20:25 June 5, 2011 by Kstock
For those of you who are not in the "know", the men pictured are from the Australian Jet-ski chapter of the Hells Angels. A fierce bunch of young ruff bikers that roam the coastline. Now the Swedish coastline is not safe from these moss infested barnacle beards. PS, those vests are water proof
22:53 June 5, 2011 by Ivan Juric
Those bikers in the photos are pussies also who are only tough in numbers, when they pass through my town I block my ears in their full view and laugh at them. They are just drug peddling garbage.
23:11 June 5, 2011 by StockholmSam
Whenever I see Harley riders, especially those sporting gang colors, I just think of the South Park episode and start laughing.

As a aboy I lived by the San Diego Chapter of the Hell's Angels a nd later across the Strett from the New York Chapter of the Hell's Angels. They are actually a really nice group of Guys as long as you are not an enemy. I don't think the Police dislike them as much as they pretend. The White neighbors were glad they were there, because they cut down on petty street crime.

No woman or Old Lady ever had a Flat tire on the Street that they didn't help fix. I don't know why people have to bother them and can't let them party with their friends in peace.
00:23 June 6, 2011 by blursd
Huh, must be all those Australian Hell's Angels roaming around Sweden that caused this problem ... :s

American commentators use to think they're so tough. While in reality those individuals are only but pathetic, and incredibly so! Get back to your side of the Atlantic.

I saw a bumper sticker at a Virginia gun show (one of the last bastions of freedom anywhere, I might add). It said: Stop white on white crime. That would be a good place to start, if that's what this biker stabbing turns out to be.
04:55 June 6, 2011 by Ivan Juric
@Wenddiver same can be said about those really nice church going mafiosa...rolls eyes...
05:16 June 6, 2011 by graphixperson
What lazy journalism with this photo. It's like the Chinese using "Top Gun" footage for their new jet...
07:11 June 6, 2011 by Puddi
@graphixperson

Not lazy journalism; as far as I know The Local is not connected to the same big pool of news agencies as are most newspapers. Look around said papers, and you'll find that the only pictures they make themselves are on some local news items.
10:50 June 6, 2011 by heatherr
Interesting that this article is fairly different from Radio Sweden's, which reported that "A motorcycle rally is underway all weekend at the nearby amusement park, but the police don't think rival motorcycle gangs were involved, according to sources." http://sverigesradio.se/sida/artikel.aspx?programid=2054&artikel=4540101 That's quite a difference from "The campground where the fight took place was the site of a large bikers' meet up taking place all weekend." and "Man stabbed to death at bikers' meet up"
11:14 June 6, 2011 by Rey Stockholm
Dont be fooled into thinking they are innocent nice guys, its true if you are not involved in their scene you are safe - however they are involved in some nasty busiensses such as drugs which affects all of society.

Strongly advise against standing in front of agroup of them and taking the mickey !!

For some amusing insight into the Hell's Angels as they were in California in the 60's, read the Hunter Thompson book, "The Strange and Terrifying Saga of the Hell's Angels". While they were awfully strange, they weren't generally all that terrifying. The club seems to have morphed into something quite different these days, not just the bunch of social dropouts who wanted to ride motorcycles and not much else.

In SoCal (San Bernadino), where they originated, the sun shines almost every day of the year, perfect for bikrers. In Sweden, well, not too many good biking days. What to do all the other days?
12:11 June 6, 2011 by Birbun
It's fun how the Swedes try to imitate the Americans in these things.

A complex of inferiority?

Perhaps they should imitate also the Americans in the worked hours and in the number of yearly weeks as holidays...
13:33 June 6, 2011 by canam
While they may be outdated in the states, the Banditos and Hells Angels out of Montreal run the drug game and are quite dangerous. Swedes are posers, just like the rappers. Tough life growing up here...
16:19 June 6, 2011 by Graeme.H
Listen to all the would be Biker experts....They see one Hells Angels patch and all of a suddening know everything because they read a book somewhere.

For your info, yes it is an Australian biker meet, but not an HAMC one, it was the Gypsey Jokers protest meet in South Australia.

And for those wanna be experts on biker life around the world may want to think a little harder on calling our northern brothers pussies, cause I am fairly sure, Sweden is the only country where an anti tank gun has been fired at a biker club house. But hey, come down to the club house and feel free to say what you think away from the safety of your keyboards!

18:14 June 6, 2011 by vladpootin
Judging from some of the defensive comments here, I would say some of the Swede HA chapter are in this forum responding angrily - from their Ipods whilst sipping some blåbärssoppa.

The only reason the American (plankowner) Hells Angels do not crush the poser clubs in Europe is because it's just too dammmn expensive to fly over here and rip those patches off. It is only the weak dollar that keeps these clowns patched. (ok, maybe a passport application can be difficult if you're wanted in California, Nevada and Washington.
18:47 June 6, 2011 by matonbass
love to see yhese guys walking aroung in some of the tough impoverished districts of Glasgow, like shettlestone, parkhead, easterhouse. they'd be laughed off the street looking like that . then set upon by a bunch of " wee hard men "
19:30 June 6, 2011 by wenddiver
@Matobass- Are you talking about little Wee hard Islamic men? I thought they had taken over all the neighborhoods in Britain. I would clean up my own neighborhood, before I started worrying about the HA. Every time they have a story about these guys there are lots of computer commandos saying what they would do to them. How come there are no news artcles about the Hell's Angels ever getting beat up? All talk.
20:40 June 6, 2011 by Graeme.H
@Matonbass

all talk no trouser action
22:07 June 6, 2011 by Graeme.H
@infidel2012

Whatever your point it is surely lost in your drivel. My point is, there is a lot of keyboard posers here. But if you want to show the world how tough you are walk into the local chapter, start the tough talk....and hey who knows how many anti tank rockets are still laying round =)
23:16 June 6, 2011 by rise
@infidel2012

Yes I remember the pictures on TV from those anti tank rocket blasts... some biker place or whatever it was were blown into small pieces. It's been several years now, but still, I'd like to see some of these tough posters peeing their pants would they ever meet some of those "pussie-pussie" bikers.

What a load of hot air, about a load of filth.Drug running, extortionists,enjoying human exploitation,bullying cowardly trash,with silly badges, only bonding with miscreants.

Rangers took them out at Fort Lewis, the Regiment took them out in Ross.

Don't see many Harleys in Hellmand, or Fallujah

Though they remain scum ,the US, Canadian and UK 1% clubs will still put up a bit of a fight the socialist European MC clubs are most likely to call the cops if things get too rough.

Die to ride....kiss my arse

Who dares wins...always
01:58 June 7, 2011 by Graeme.H
@Tusker

Yes instead of silly badges, they should be silly uniforms get a goverment behind sanctioned murder of women and children and goat herders where ever the oil may be.
03:22 June 7, 2011 by Veronika Larsson
My, so many "hard men" posting here, each of the capable of beating the stuffing out of the entire Hell's Angels all by himself.

It's more than a girl can bear :)
03:25 June 7, 2011 by Tusker
@Graeme.H

It's safe for you to spout here.

Let's see what happens when they are in your home. Maybe you will get your significant other to deal with them.And you know who I mean.

12:09 June 8, 2011 by farnoxo
Why do bikers have to always look so ... "smelly" hygiene-challenged. I mean super-tough Mafia bosses are well-dressed and look as though they pay regular attention to personal hygiene. Russian mobsters like Svaille Row suits. A persoanl plea to bikers ... you CAN be tough and clean.

Maybe there is a market opening for Harley Davidson to develop a line of men's personal grooming products for bikers: "Tough Leather" facial moisturiser, "Grimy Filth" shower gel, "Rough Razor" shaving gel, "Shag" 2-in-1 hair and beard shampoo and conditioner.....
12:54 June 9, 2011 by MadDogEnglishman
Firstly i am english living in sweden and local to this incident..(Gnosjö) and i would just like to say this, none of these bikers have caused any problems in our area and have been nothing but friendly and polite....secondly while on your keyboard you can feel safe and secure in the knowledge no one knows who you are and you feel free to say anything you want about anyone without any consequences so please consider this.....that if you spoke to anyone whether biker or not and called them a pussy the chances are you'll get knocked on your arse at least if not hurt worse.....affiliation race religion colour or any combination of these does not cause the problem or incident....idiots do...and i care not whether you are sky blue pink with yellow spots, whether you worship the fecal matter of space aliens or whether you are a biker....idiots are idiots ....my rants over but please consider my words as in life i will tell you to your face how i feel about you and if you dont like it tough, but oif you show respect i will show respect , i may not like what yuou say or do but io respect your decisions to say or do it as long as you realise the consequences.
