Condom firm seeks Swedes for ‘hard but satisfying job’

The Swedish branch of condom giant Durex recently announced open positions for 1,000 happy Swedes of both sexes to act as condom testers.

“We offer flexible working hours, a hard but satisfying job, no uniform or training needed, and you can come when you want - but preferably not prematurely,” the ad reads on the website.

The company asks nothing else from their applicants than that they have to be between 18 and 30 and willing to help improve the condom-maker to get better at their game.

“Even if the campaign is tongue-in-cheek, the mission is very serious,” Category Marketing Manager at Durex, Claus Albertsen, said in a statement.

If applicants possess a good nature, a passion to excel, empathy, curiosity and potential to excite, they are ideal for the position, according to the company.

To apply, interested jobseekers can enter the company website, answer why they are “the perfect condom-tester” and answer a few sex-related questions.

But according to Albertsen, the job as condom-tester is just as important as it is lustful because the testers will help try out and develop products that don’t just protect but give people a better, more satisfying, sex life.

“We are hoping that our testers will find it both safe and enjoyable to use a condom and that they will spread the good news further,” Albertsen said.

All applicants are automatically entered into a prize-drawing whether or not they are successful in their applications, with prizes ranging from a weekend stay in a Stockholm hotel to condom and sex-toy kits from the company.

A t-shirt “showing their new status” as condom tester and a pack of condoms will be issued to all new employees.

The deadline for applications runs out in August and the successful applicants will be notified in September, according to the company.

“Apply now, and go for it,” the website urges the would-be Swedish testers.

Condoms should be tested with water. Heavier weight?

I cant wait to read all the feminist responses that this is sexiest and Durex is an orchestrated partner in ensuring that women as usual get screwed while the man rides his way to the top.

@zircon. There's more to condoms than just durability. Otherwise they could've used invisible shield:

They need these people. Durex are so desensitizing. I admit I haven't tried them for a long time, but when I did I was not impressed.

Very effective PR!

@Byke

Condoms are the very symbol of hereronormative patriarchical oppression, and imply that all penis in vagina sex should be the norm. It totally ignores lesbians.

Worst of all, when they pay people to test condoms they pay for sex! The ultimate crime!

Obviously these evil condom companies should be prosecuted for their crimes against women.

@luke123

Exactly, the use of such is like spitting in disgust not in a women's face, but worse ... insulting her most private of lady areas.

And these dental dams designed for lesbian sex is just another way to humiliate women even more by helping to silence women by placing a big rubber sheet across a women's mouth. This in itself makes a women's voice sound distorted and is used by men to oppress women even more as when a women attempts to talk, when she then starts speaking in English the result is a thick accent, and automatically she is labelled as a prostitute and can be brought to trial in Sweden if she just happens to be wearing a skirt at the same time.

Luckily many women at the lesbian feminist association of sweden have latched on to this evil plan and sent out memos to many of their followers on how to oppress such by the use of militant boots and trousers.

Hey, some lesbians use condoms, too!

don't ask...

@ Amber Dawn

We heterosexuals are not so sheltered, that we don't know what dental dams are:)

I don't think they will get many applicants for this test particularly since 90% of sexually active people in Sweden never wears one.

"We are hoping that our testers will find it both safe and enjoyable to use a condom and that they will spread the good news further"

How convenient of this fellow to say that-and is there a single soul on earth with no knowledge of the existence of condoms? So spreading this so-called good news is a bit patronizing. And don't state the obvious- as people don't engage each other for the pain factor. And the enjoyable factor surely pre-dates the inception of condoms! Get your facts right!

hehe...... when they say swedish testers, of course you are the best.

Personally condoms have their place in society like any other form of contraceptive. The benefits of such of an invention have been well documented and I'm surprised that so many here post so negatively about this subject. Condoms IMHO have liberated many, and help to prevent so many unwanted births and sexually transmitted diseases from spreading. Without them, I'm sure society would be far worse without this piece of important rubber.
