Kidnapped Swede found with captors in lay-by

Five men barged into a flat in the Rosengård suburb of Malmö, in the south of Sweden, early on Monday morning kidnapping one man after incapacitating two others.

Around 2am on Monday morning three men allegedly entered the Rosengård flat by force rendering one of the men there helpless by spraying him in the face with teargas, beating up another and finally removing one man from the flat by force.

After interviewing the men left behind in the apartment the police had no clear picture as to why the man was kidnapped. His friends said that they did not recognize the assailants and had no idea why they targeted their flat.

“According to the men left in the flat there is no connection between them and the perpetrators,” said Per Robertz of the local police to newspaper Sydsvenskan.

The incident was treated as abduction by the police who on Monday morning put all their resources into locating the man.

“This is a very very serious crime. It is our top priority today,” Robertz told the paper on Monday morning.

He was discovered when the police stopped a car outside of Jönköping, 295 kilometers north of Malmö, later on Monday morning. Two of his kidnappers were also in the car, according to local media reports.

Google does instantly point to this TL story with search term "Sweden Kipnapping".

It also brings up sites reporting the Swedish state kidnapping of a young boy, Domenic Johansson who is being held from his family.

"After years of battling the social services over not sending Domenic to pre-school and not giving him the government's "recommended" — though technically optional — vaccines, the family decided to move to India, the mother's homeland. But right before their plane was set to take off, authorities abducted the boy [2009]. He's been in state custody ever since.

The original reason for ripping the family apart was homeschooling, which is technically legal in Sweden until a new law banning it goes into effect later this year [2011]. But social services later complained that Domenic had not received all his vaccines and that he had two baby-teeth cavities the family was planning to treat in India.

The battle to reunite the family has been going on ever since. And on May 11, a high-level appeals court was supposed to review the case. Protesters supporting the family arrived with signs — some of the activists were relatively cheerful, others were obviously on the verge of crying — in what a spokesperson for the court referred to as unusual.

Unfortunately, Christer and Annie Johansson, the boy's parents, could not show up to the hearing. Annie has been hospitalized half a dozen times since her son was abducted by armed police from the jetliner bound for India. She had what her husband refers to as a sort of "breakdown" after the traumatic experience..."

are people that live in malmö insane ? 90% of the weird stuff that happens in sweden is in malmö ...
20:44 August 8, 2011 by Smallnose
Besides Malmö, the legal system, the hospitals, the student housing and the public transport hospitality, Sweden is still paradise.

@Grokh

By weird, do you mean greeting anyone else or just pretending you dont know them when you see them in the street?

Virgoman #1 says, "Malmö is gradually turning into MEXICO....."

But without the great Mexican cuisine.

You wrote "Malmö is gradually turning into MEXICO" is wrong. Malmö is a city and MEXICO is a country.

You should have written that Malmö is turning into a Virgomanland. That would have been far more accurate.

What a jerk. I am completely sure that you have never been in Mexico, ergo, you are only writing nincompoopiadas at a really big state.

The new "pincheguevara" has no idea how great the Mexican cuisine is. He must live by "pyttipanna" "kanelbullar" at most.

Don't be surprised to find out his name. Remember that in Sweden, if you adopt the Swedish nationality, it does not matter that your name is Osama Bin Laden, you are a Swede. You prey every single day to Alah, but you are a Swede.
