Consider this: We must reduce population , economic growth and consumption because they cause global warming, which will cause natural catastrophes that will reduce population, economic growth and consumption. So ... we've got to deprive ourselves before global warming does? Seriously?
I say, Let's cut out the middleman and do whatever the hell we want. After all, if it's "Eat, drink and be merry, for tomorrow we die [in a flood or drought or ice age, etc.]," then I'm going to eat all of the steak, drink all of the wine and fly to every beach I can. And screw all of you who take offense. Or better yet, start reducing the population, beginning with yourself.
Just waiting for the study that smoking is very good for your health, funded by?
Anyone with half a brain knows that it's not healthy to eat a lchf diet long-term.
"The first time someone calls you a horse you punch him on the nose, the second time someone calls you a horse you call him a jerk but the third time someone calls you a horse, well then perhaps it's time to go shopping for a saddle."
this doesnt apply to everything but it definately applies to climate change which is verifiable truth and fact that only morons refuse to believe.
as for cutting out the middleman? like corporations did with middleclass across the globe for the past 10 years? thats working out great isnt it ? every year theres a new crisis but fear not someone is becoming a trillionaire so its all good -_-x
"Doing more things like encouraging people to eat fresh, seasonal and local will have a far bigger impact than whining about a few thousand extra pork chops being eaten each year.
Anyone with half a brain knows that it's not healthy to eat a lchf diet long-term".
Tell that to the lions, tigers, panthers, cheetahs, because a LCHF diet is what they have been eating all of their lives from the beginning of time.
And please do not come with the "we are not lions" comment.
Yes, humans are animals. The human's phylum is Chordata (vertebrate). The human's class is mammalia. Its order is primate (the same as apes). Its family is Hominidae (apes that have no tail and can gather food with their hands.) The Human's sub-family is Homininae. Its tribe is Hominini. Its genus is Homo and its specie is scientifically named Homo Sapiens."
Everybody should learn about the "Lions Diet", because, when was the last time you saw an obese lion? How about a chubby cheetah? Or a fat tiger? Have you ever seen an overweight leopard or panther? If you have ever watched nature programs on TV, I am sure that you know the answer to the questions just posed.
The answer is "never".
Do these wild cats eat a dry food diet that is full of starchy carbohydrates in the form of grains? Do they eat a water-depleted diet in the form of dry kibble? Is their diet one that derives much of its protein from plants (versus meat) as is true of many dry food diets?
The answers are, again, simple: "no", "no", and "no".
So, if you want to lose weight and have a good control of your blood sugar, either you do like the lions or continue eating junk food at McDonalds, Burger King, whatever.
Nobody gains from global warming. Global warming is a good example of a fact that has been ignored and denied for around 30 years by research funded by industries that will loose profit (car, oil).
Maybe you are surprised to hear that people already knew global warming was going on 20 years before Al Gore made his movie and before you see it mentioned on MTV.
At the time they were 95 % sure, now they are more than 99% sure.....that's the only difference.
I guess you also don't believe in evolution. That Darwin guy got a lot of funding from commies right?
Welcome deep thinkers to this forum about a diet research backed by US Meat industry; research sponsored by companies interested in keep on selling us products that will take us more quickly to the grave due to obesity, heart problems and diabetes provoked by a high consumption of carbohydrates. We shall see what we shall see. See you at McDonalds for a nice and tasty hamburger full of carbohydrates.
