Malmö shooter tied to more murder attempts

Sweden has added to more cases of attempted murder to the suspicions against a man believed to have carried out a year-long shooting spree targeting immigrants, court officials said Tuesday.

The 39-year-old man identified by Swedish media as Peter Mangs was arrested last November following a series of race-related shootings in the southern city of Malmö.

He is already suspected for three murders and 12 counts of attempted murder in Sweden's third largest city, but prosecutors added two more counts of attempted murder related to shootings on the night of June 26, 2010.

Media have reported that the accused suffers from a form of autism called Asperges Syndrome.

Mangs didn't appear surprised by the court's decision, according to the TT news agency.

Through his lawyer, Christina Brink, Mangs denied committing any of the crimes of which he is suspected.

While an official indictment is scheduled to be filed on September 13th, few expect the investigation to be complete by then.

Detective Börje Sjöholm told reporters that the police investigation of Mangs is time consuming and lengthy, as each crime is being investigated individually.

“New questions come up all the time forcing us to go back through the investigation material and look for answers,” he said, according to TT.

In total, Mangs is suspected of 19 serious crimes, but investigators aren't ruling out the possibility that more shootings may be tied to the 39-year-old.

@ The Local

It's "ASPERGER Syndrome".

It's "suspected OF" not "for".

It's "two more" not "to".

"Suspected" of a crime is the word used during the police investigation.

If he has been arrested and is in custody he is now "accused" of these crimes. It's more than just "suspected".

That's enough for now...

Another poorly written article.

Welcome to the club! If you read TL, GOD BLESSÉS YOU. It has been a magnificent collection of poorly written articles without any journalism knowledge behind them.

I am Aspie. This guy most likely is a pretender - or one of those people with additional problems.

We are friendly people and not interested in violence, crime.

Nice to see Aspergers Syndrome prominently mentioned in this case. But the fact of Breivik's homosexuality is not worthy to be mentioned in the media.

Attention everybody:

A friend of mine just called to inform me that his posting privileges were suspended ´by The Local, because he wrote that Swedes live under a totalitarian government. And then we are discussing about censorship, freedom of speech, etc. This is one of the best examples of The Local's hypocrisy, whether they like it or not.
15:53 August 31, 2011 by prince T
J bemar. I dont believe they will suspend one just for that. There may be other things your friend have written that we dont know about.
16:49 August 31, 2011 by DaveN
It seems a bit strange that this article shows a picture of the accused, as well as his name. However, if the accused is an immigrant, there is no picture and no name. Iäm thinking here of the guy that raped and killed a girl at a bus stop in Gothenburg.

And why should you know about? My friend is the one who should know why his posting privileges wer suspended by TL. Perhaps the censorship has started. Do not forget that TL is tightly linked to Expressen. So, in spite that you and I have been quarreling in the past, just be careful. You know: It happens in the best of families.

Very strange that some guy who had his posting rights stopped should phone you. What did he expect you to do? It was most probably one of your nicks that was suspended, because you are not allowed to create alter ego's, commonly known as sock puppets.

I will write to you what I just wrote in another post:

"All the posters here bitching about censorship are ALL hiding behind a pseudonym. I wonder why?" You wrote.

Well, Ricky the Tricky, let me tell you once and for all that I am one of the first ones who never hid behind a pseudonym. Now, you are following me, that is if Ricky the Tricky is your real name and not a pseudonym and that I am one of the many who complains about the insulting style some have, including you.

Your "ALL hiding behind a pseudonym" is nothing more than one of the many lies you have posted in this Internet Website.

You are one of the many who enjoys attacking others for no reasons at all; just for the sake of provoking answers.

Well Ricky! Enough is enough and, if you enjoy your position I believe you have as a spy for The Local, that is up to you. I only request that you delete also some of your own posters so nobody notices who is acting on behalf of The Local.

Believe me. I am not the only one who has analized what you write and how you write. You know, if someone quacks as a duck, swims as a duck, has feathers as a duck and eats like a duck, he must be a duck.

And please, just please, do not comment in your "sarcastic" way of doing your so-called "comments" what you just read. Just swallow it and start behaving like the "intelligent" person you claim to be and not as the spoiled brat you have shown to be.
