Terrorism is not something that we export and the Ethiopian Govt. is equipped with enough understanding to assess what happened with these two young investigative journalists knowingly or unknowingly trespassing/ entering a danger zone, in search of the true picture and perhaps inadvertently succumbing to the Stockholm Syndrome, whilst in search of that story.

It's happened with the best of intentions - ( reporting from the front-line/behind enemy lines etc.
The advantages of maintaining friendly relations/ mending a broken relationship with Sweden far outweigh the disadvantages of doing the contrary. Considering the long and fruitful relationship between Sweden and Ethiopia (I have Swedish friends who were born of missionary parents and partly bred there) and the Ethiopians here in Sweden area very respected segment of the immigrant and naturalised Ethiopian people. Sweden - Ethiopia is a relationship to be developed on lines of mutual respect and understanding and to our mutual advantage. Of course we must all respect the spirit and the letter of the law - that being the case we can only plead,
"And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us" as they pray in the Ethiopian Orthodoxly Church, one of the oldest Churches in the world.
Sadly, that's the procedure when dealing with tin-pot dictatorships who love to collect "spies" and "terrorists" from rich western countries to help finance the Lear jet.
