Swedish medical authorities are considering banning injections to enhance the size of women's breasts due to concerns that the substance used makes it hard to detect breast cancer.

The Swedish Medical Products Agency (Läkemedelsverket) has warned that injectable implants can “hamper and sometimes make it impossible to interpret mammogram images”.

The injections use hyaluronic acid and promise to increase the cup size of a woman's breasts on a semi-permanent basis without the need for surgery.

“The advantages are obvious. The patient doesn't need to be sedated and doesn't get any ugly scars from an operation,” plastic surgeon Jan Jernbeck of the Akademikliniken in Stockholm told the Expressen newspaper.

“She doesn't even need to be gone from work.”

The Medical Products Agency has launched an investigation into the matter after receiving calls from a number of mammography centres complaining that the implant injections are causing problems for breast cancer screening.

The agency plans to consult experts from companies as well as medical professionals and officials from the National Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) as a part of its analysis of the effects of the injectable implants.

The health board recently published a set of national breast cancer guidelines stating that mammography is an important factor to increase a woman's chances of surviving breast cancer, as the procedure can often reveal tumours at an earlier stage of development.

The agency said it is working as quickly as possible to come up with a ruling as to whether or not the injections should be banned in Sweden.

The kind of girls that go for this are not what i would call a good addition to the gene pool anyway. (lack of brains and integrity, at the very least)

But it's their life, if they are stupid enough to do it knowing the consequences they should be allowed too.

Now if only they could pass a law that requires women to wear something to notify those around that she has dyed hair i would be very pleased :))

These women are looking to cheat nature and natural selection, it's the first sign they have a very deceitful personality.

What arrogant ignorance.

I know a couple of women who have had this procedure, and both of them would blow you out of the water with their brains, integrity, and honesty.

As long as we're making laws for the "good of women", how about requiring them by law to wear full support bras to make sure gravity doesn't prematurely cause sagging and preventing any medical problems associated with it that might cost the tax payers. We can take better care of our women. We know best.

@bcterry

You can't have the cake and eat it, things just don't work that way.

It's like a minster wearing clown shoes and then demanding to be called dignified and respectable.

If they have brains they will use it for deceitful purposes , they maximize their "sexual productivity" . Aka whoring themselves out.

Making others think you have big boobs so you can get what you want is pretty much the opposite of honesty or integrity.

The picture is not a good one. We're not talking about breast implants here. No need to write circles around the boobs for this procedure.

Can the government make all women wear burqas too? You know, to prevent skin cancer...since women aren't capable of thinking and deciding for themselves.

The injections make breasts bigger => more reason for cancer doctors to grab on big boobs? Anti-human-instinct logic with this action there. Yet it's great to see that doctors really care for patient health rather than their perverted sexual satisfaction :D

SOLUTION

1. Have a questionnaire that asks the question "have you had breast injections or implants.

2. If "yes" indicate that an additional out-of-pocket fee will be necessary - if medical technicians flag a patient - for additional cancer testing over and above Sweden's current medical plan.

3. Have patient sign a form stating they understand the ramifications of having breast injections and or implants and the subsequent follow-up testing procedure.

4. All injection and breast implant clinics must make patients aware of the additional costs down the road if cancer is remotely found/detected/questionable.

5. Take out a rider in ones insurance plan for such an eventuality.

If a patient can afford the injections or implants they can afford the extra fees. Please don't restrict our freedoms or choice.
