the employee should have waited to get into Denmark then called. he/ she would not be breaking Danish law..If the situation was reversed, would a Danish care worker be prosecuted for calling a sex worker in Sweden for a danish invalid? ...sorry i forgot there are no sex workers in Sweden since Swedens illuminated sex trade laws...
I can agree with the fact that a personal care assistant is not allowed to assist someone in breaking the law. I do not understand why such an assistant would travel with someone across the border, unless she was privately employed and not payed for or subsidized by the Swedish government.
However, if there is a sensible reason for him/her to travel to another country with their patient then they obviously have to respect local law. Which in return might allow things that are illegal at home or disallow things that are legal at home.
I fail to understand why this has to be such a big deal.
The Dutch have long since understood that even the severly disabled may have sexual needs and desires, and provide special prostitution services for them.
Personal carers in Sweden are employed directly by the person they care for. If the employer discovers that the carer want to impose her moral standards on him, he should simply fire her.
Sex is not a right that should be fulfilled by others. Disabled people are just people and they are perfectly able to make people tick so they can go to bed with someone. Don't patronise them.
