Man jailed for building skate ramp with bits of friend's house

A man in southern Sweden has been convicted of vandalism among other charges after attempting to surprise his friend and build a skateboard ramp using materials ripped from the friend’s house.

A 22-year-old man from Halmstad claimed he wanted to surprise his new-found friend but will now sit behind bars for two months.

The man built a skateboard ramp in the backyard of a friend’s home. The friend was away at the time of construction.

The man ripped wooden planks from his friend’s patio and used metal pipes to construct the ramp.

He discovered the needed tools in his friend’s car, which was locked. He smashed through the car’s side window and grabbed the tools that were there to carry out his work.

When his friend returned home, he found a skateboard ramp in his backyard, a torn up patio and an ax thrust into the wall of his house.

While the 22-year-old admitted he broke into the car and built a skate ramp from the patio, he denies intentional damage. He claimed the window was broken by accident and the ramp was built as a surprise, according to local media Halland’s Post.

The man was sentenced to two months imprisonment on charges of assault, harassment, vandalism and stealing a car.

Ummmm is the guy mentally ill or something? Who in their right mind goes round to their friends house and thinks it's ok, and a nice surprise, to do that? :-|

With friends like that, who needs an enema?

All these uncivilized acts happen in civilized societies in accordance with Cosmic rule.

None to be blamed! No long-term solution is achievable by changing policies or making new laws e.g. in efforts of ending accidents, crimes against national securities etc. including airports.

But for them now, no more welfare checks for free good times and committing crimes!

To keep the guys with such heartless behaviours and mentalities off the Western streets, new labor camps are needed where they have to earn the costs of their own food that someone has to produce!

This guy should have been referred to a psychiatrist.

Why do so many people say a perpetrator of crime is sick, or mentally ill, or in need of a psychiatrist. Just say what it is, SIN. We all have thoughts of doing wrong but most of us restrain ourselves. Those who don't are BAD. They choose wrong and it harms others. It does no good to label them "in need of repair" as if anyone but themselves can change them. Until they decide to change they need to be separated from society. A certain and just punishment is an ideal that helps protect us all. Its called justice.

Skateboarding is not a crime.

Patios are a crime though.

Unbelievable the Swedish craze for building enormous "decks" around their habitations. Should be outlawed.

Let the dude go - he was only trying to turn something ugly into something beautiful.

BTW - gotta love the axe in the wall!!!

@shahislam - sure, concentration camps have always worked so well in the past (not).....this fellow committed a minor foolish crime and has received a minor appropriate sentence - and probably lost a friend.

Well this is one of those stories you hear about all the time. Yep the guy probably needs a brain surgeon, outrageous behaviour!

Btw brain surgery isn´t rocket science
