Olofsson, Carlgren out as Reinfeldt reshuffles

Fredrik Reinfeldt on Thursday announced a government reshuffle, with new Centre Party head Annie Lööf appointed minister for enterprise, European MP Lena Ek minister for the environment and Anna-Karin Hatt IT and energy minister.

New Centre leader Annie Lööf takes over the heavyweight post as Minister for Enterprise from former centre party leader Maud Olofsson.
”This is a clear signal from my side. I want to create new possibilities for Sweden,” she said.
Current IT-minister Anna-Karin Hatt is also getting new responsibilities.
She will be the new minister for IT and energy, thereby shouldering the energy issues previously handled by the minister for enterprise.
”I have asked Anna-Karin to continue on with a new and broader portfolio,” Annie Lööf said.
According to Lööf, her predecessor Maud Olofsson, who previously held the post as deputy prime minister, minister for energy and enterprise as well as party head for the Centre Party had been living under "inhuman" conditions.
"I want a slimmer portfolio to be able to shoulder the responsibility and have the opportunity to actually be a party head and travel around. Many are expecting this of me," Lööf said at the press conference.
Andreas Carlgren is also a member of the Centre Party and has been minister for the environment since 2006. Annie Lööf thanked Carlgren and Olofsson for their valuable contributions.
Fredrik Reinfeldt said that he had seen the massive support Lööf has from her party and that it is now up to her to form her team.
"With a strong Centre Party the Alliance will prosper," he said.
Thursday's reshuffle means that the government will now consist of 12 men and 12 women, compared to 13 men and 11 women before.
