Man paid teen boys to rape underage girl

A man and two 16-year-old boys were charged on Friday for the rape of a girl in her lower teens. According to the charge sheet, the man paid the boys to rape the girl and film the incident.

The 34-year-old man was arrested by police in the beginning of September under suspicion of buying sex from teenage boys in exchange for tobacco and alcohol.

He was also suspected of aggravated child rape of one of them, according to local paper Vestmanlands Läns Tidning (VLT).

However, after a few weeks the investigation took another turn.

One of the 34-year-old's alleged victims, a 16-year-old boy, was also charged with child rape. Soon after, the second 16-year-old was brought in by police as well.

According to prosecutor Helena Lundgren, a girl, below 15 years old, which is Sweden's age of consent, was raped on two occasions by the two 16-year-old boys, who filmed the incident on the behest of the 34-year-old.

Lundgren told VLT that the 34-year-old then paid the two boys for their participation.

The rapes allegedly took place in the 34-year-old's flat in Hallastahammar, in central Sweden, during the summer and the police have seized most of the footage found there.

The 34-year-old is now facing several charges of aggravated child rape and child pornography offences.

The two boys are charged with several charges of child rape and one of them also of sexual abuse against a child.

According to the prosecutor all involved have made some admissions when questioned, but she was not willing to disclose what had been said.

However, one of the 16-year-olds is denying the rape allegations, saying that he is a victim, according to VLT.

Hope the 34 year old never sees his 35th birthday.

Truly evil, time for the death penalty.

Something doesn't add up here. It says the young girl was raped on two different occasions, both times at the man's apartment. What girl in her right mind returns to a man's apartment where she was raped once before? Did the two boy's kidnap her and force her into the apartment the second time? If so, okay, charge them for rape etc; but if she returned to the apartment willingly, then I question the girl's role in this situation. The 34-year-old man should definitely be punished for his part, but a 16-year-old boy having 'consensual' sex with a nearly-15-year-old girl complicates things.

On the wording of occasion, there is no indication that the girl was taken to this apartment more than once. That usage may mean is that while she was in there the two criminal act took place at different times during the same visit. One would expect the "incident" to be plural if there were a significant time period elapsing between the offences. (But as we already know The Local's translations are not always accurate.)

We don't know what relationship exists between the man and the girl, or the boys and the girl. A 34-year old and under-15 girl could be father and daughter, in which case her presence in the apartment is explained simply, or the relationship could be uncle and niece, again her presence in the apartment is explainable. Not that either of those relationships give permission for the man to pay for and film the girl's rapes.

The man may have "groomed" the girl over a period of time. Sadly incidents similar to this happened in England some time ago. Older men grooming pre-teen girls for multiple rape and prostitution. If there were two widely separate events then the girl's return to a place where she had been abused once is strange ... but the inducements of the groomer may have over come any caution she should have exhibited.

@ The Local: Have noticed on several occasions now that these articles on child tragedies often appear directly under the heading (that says something like), "Stockholm International School: The Real International School Experience." It doesn't seem appropriate that this advertisement slogan should be juxtaposed with tragic headlines involving children...

You sound like the English politician Ken Clark who recently tried to distinquish different levels of rape with some less serious than others. Let's get real here the girl was raped. Who cares whether it was "staturory" or "forcible". She was violated while cameras were pointed at her.

"...a girl, below 15 years old, which is Sweden's age of consent, was raped on two occasions by the two 16-year-old boys..."

In the same sentence where Sweden's age of consent is mentioned, the victims(?)/suspects are still referred to as boys. I am all for raising the age of consent in Sweden, but until then, stop calling them boys.

@calebian22

Yes, indeed. Each country allows a couple legitimately to try to start a family at some arbitrary age: 15 in the case of Sweden, 16 in the case of England; 14 in the case of Romania, other countries have different ages of consent. But then these countries have higher age limits for what the English used to describe with the quaint phrase "reaching the age of majority". Once mature the citizen can then be given the vote, called up for military service, accept responsibilities for their own debts, get a job, and various other legal issues but this can be 2, 3, or 4 years after they have become a parent. The whole system needs to be overhauled such that the right to parenthood is accompanied with the right to vote, to being on the front-line, etc. Only then will we have no confusion between children under the age of consent and adults over that age. A Swede under 15: a boy or a girl; over 15: a man or woman.
