A Swedish father stands to face charges for having cashed in over 25,000 kronor ($3,850) a week to take care of his daughter based on a faked diagnosis for mental illness.

The girl has been held in isolation since the age of seven and following an investigation it has been shown that the now 18-year-old girl has no disability, the City Malmö newspaper reported.

The girl has spent the last eleven years in the care of her father, without going to school and has been considered to be infantile, unable to express herself in any other way than sounds and body language.

To care for her, her father received welfare totalling 25,000 kronor a week.

The revelations which emerged from the recent medical assessment of the girl are expected to lead prosecutors to soon file charges against the father at Malmö District Court on counts of aggravated fraud and benefits crimes.

Everything came to light when the girl ran away from her parents and reported her father for unlawful threats.

She was taken into care and placed in a youth home, where the social services carried out an investigation into how she, contrary to all previous diagnoses, has a high level of functionality.

The father, who was arrested last summer, is now suspected of having instructed her how to behave in contact with social services, doctors and psychiatrists with the result that she was granted personal assistance 98 hours a week, the newspaper said.

After the revelations the father has been prohibited from having contact with his daughter.

Deputy chief prosecutor Bo Birgerson, who is leading the preliminary investigation has confirmed to the newspaper that the scam runs into several million kronor.

Sick sick sick. That poor girls childhood has been robbed.

" in contact with social services, doctors and psychiatrists". I guess then that none of these professionals had been able, through the application of scientific psychiatric methods, to determine that this was all a con-job.

Which begs the question: what use are these diagnoses when they are simply unsubstantiated opinions?

I do so hope that this 'father' has to repay to the state ALL the fraudulent benefits he received and has to pay compensation to his long-abused daughter. Wonder if he's driving a Merc?
11:20 October 27, 2011 by robban70226
Unfortunately that is very common here, Too many people riding free and we pay for them. I personally knows a young man that read in the internet the symptoms of attention disorder and quitted his job. he being living free for years and very proudly tell his close friends how easy is to fool the psychologist here. a product of the spoiled generation that have no self respect and claims that the government should take care of him because he is Swedish, . And then you wonder what's wrong with this country??

The worst is that nobody appears to care about all the cheaters that are just sucking from the government.

My gf has mental issues and cannot work and let me tell you i am sure shes not riding the system.

Mental issues in sweden is a taboo , i urge the people who think that this kind of cases happen often to do a little more research , it is not always the case and alot of people do need help.

Stuff like this happens even less now since the government pushed alot of people who were receiving help into the work force which resulted in people going mental and either harming themselves or others, and we all know how much weird stuff happen in sweden because of mental instability.

ultimately stuff like this only harm the people that actually need the help.

@robban70226 why dont you report that screwed up person to the authorities ?
12:54 October 27, 2011 by robban70226
grokh,

there is no system in Sweden that I'm aware of reporting all the fraud and cheating going around, Living in denial that such things can happens here is not possible,

The man is ARAB of course!!!

Immigration has certainly added a brilliantly vibrant and diverse edge to Swedish criminality....
01:13 October 28, 2011 by Grokh
@HenryPollard Yes in the old days criminality in sweden had only to do with killing ones own children, or axing ones wife to death, Nowadays its much broader thanks to immigration .

@robban70226 cant you report it to the police? Who is living in denial? im sure cases like this happen 1 out of 10, i dont think i said it didnt happen, my defense is towards the system that takes care of people that DO NEED the help and end up getting bad reputation because of the people that cheat.

My girlfriend doesnt receive 25.000kr a month she gets roughly 6.000 as her problems are too broad to get a specific accepted diagnose.

I wonder wthell this man was doing to his daughter for them to get that much money.... he should be thrown in jail for childabuse as well as tax fraud or some economical stuff like that.
