Halt deportations to Syria: Social Democrats

Four representatives from the Social Democrats have demanded an immediate cessation of all refugee deportations to Syria.

Lena Sommestad, chair of the Social democrat’s women’s association S-Kvinnor, and three other representatives from Social Democrat organizations are behind the demands.

“The Foreign Ministry (Utrikesdepartementet) has for a long time discouraged people from visiting Syria and is now advising Swedes to leave the country,” the four wrote in the Svenska Dagbladet daily.

“If the ministry doesn’t deem the country to be safe for Swedes, then why is it acceptable to deport politically active refugees there? Is Sweden differentiating between people and people,” they wrote.

They describe it as hypocrisy to stand up for human rights and support cries for democracy on the one hand, and at the same time decline to offer protection to those who have fled a violent regime.

According to UN sources, 3000 people, 200 of them children, have been killed during the demonstrations in Syria.

“In the light of this it is both surprising and worrying that the Swedish state is pursuing a restrictive asylum policy where politically active people are forcibly deportated into the hands of a regime which uses its entire military superiority to strike down a mainly unarmed and peaceful opposition movement," they wrote.

Please tell others about these kind of great things Obama's Administration is doing as you can find attached at the bottom or just forward the copy to others and watch with patience, how the world evolves to be a better place for mankind everywhere. Barack just needs a little more time and support from US/ North-American citizens with global links.

So, I implore: please tell all the connections you have in USA and elsewhere with positive influence on US voters, to unconditionally support Barack for now and this party in the coming time. If we lose him, the world will head for only worse at this time of rapid transitions in global trades that's taking place, although expectations and ideas of 3rd world war by opportunist money hungry businessmen and brutal minded bad leaders will be rejected by the smarter collective wisdom of evolved global public.

There are always different scenes behind the mental pictures that we get from dishonestly controlled media -giants /moguls and then, from baseless hearsay-a vicious cycle.

Being envious of others' good-luck is not uncommon but when jealousy leads to killings or aimed at complete destruction of it's objects; it becomes a matter of sickness in human heads and 'too negativity charged crimes against humanity' get committed right-away, regardless of the strength of backing! Killings, assassinations etc. were part of old-style politics of uncivilized times!

Syria is unsafe right now, so it stands to reason that no one should be deported there now.

The argument is more fully laid out here:

There is a clear policy that is in force in Sweden, as well as the entire Europe in regards to refugees. If there hasn't been, everyone who can afford to buy a ticket would arrive here.

According to the refugee policy, if the person is able to bring forth clear proof of his/her suffering at the hands of an oppressive regime, which is not "I cannot find a job there" or "my country is too poor for my taste", but is based directly on the public activity of that person.

If the person cannot bring any proof, but just bangs on about general "oppression" - there is no reason not to deport him/her.

A lot of islamic extremists, as well as rapists, robbers and murderers are "oppressed" by these regimes due to their activities and why wouldn't Sweden send them back as fast as possible?

I would like to know what these people escaped, how did they prove it and why wouldn't they fall under the generous refugee policy of Sweden? I just think that these social dems are engaging in some kissing of behinds of certain public here. If a clear breaching of rules is in action, then sue the naturalization office, instead of calling for stuff in some idiotic letters.

As long as it doesn't mean that they can stay indefinitely in Sweden. Delaying their deportation should always be temporary and at no cost change the verdict.

They can have monthly evaluations if the situation has changed and as soon as it's even remotely safe these folks should be on the first plane out.

sure stop deportation and make all the people in the government support them themselves...

no country can take on everyone alone its stupid to think they can and its even more stupid to say its inhuman not to do it.

or am i the only person in the world who thinks "if i dont have a job, cant feed myself or pay rent i should have 20 kids" is a retarded idea that most people seem to live by these days.
