Aftonbladet (2009) reported that school burnings costs 500 million kroner ($76 million) every year. The number of school burnings had been increasing over the past ten years, with around 500 school fires in 2006, and another near 500 burnings in 2007 as well.The arsonists are usually groups of children and/or teens.
