Police rescue man from sealed luggage locker

In the middle of the night a man in southern Sweden called the Jönköping police station and requested their help in rescuing him from a sealed baggage locker at Nässjö's Central Station.

But when the man eventually phoned them again, the police officers made their way to the train station, where they found the 25-year-old trapped inside the locker, roughly one metre deep and 60 centimetres wide.
"He fit inside with some trouble and some acrobatic exercises. But this is serious stuff. If there had been a fire while he was in that locker, you can work out the consequences for yourself," said Lasse Karlsson, of the Securitas security services in Nässjö, to Sveriges Radio (SR).
The man was removed from the locker unharmed after having been stuck inside for over an hour.
He had been put there by his friends, explained the 25 year-old to the surprised officers.
"Probably seen as great fun," commented the police on their website.

And who prank calls the police? Is this a regular happening? If I prank called the police, I would expect a huge fine, jail time (and thus problems with my employer), community service, and to be generally called a dumbass by everyone I knew for a long while...
The nearest police station to Nässjö is 40km away in Jonköping

Clearly you've not read anything about the idiotic requests that English police get as emergency calls. Children saying the cops should arrest their parents because they were given their pocket money late. Or people calling in asking to be taken home because they missed the last bus/train. Or that the chips they bought have gone cold. Or that their girlfriend has dumped them so could the police arrest her.
Well yes, we can work out the risk and the likelihood of there being a fire there. There's always a risk, which is why we have fire brigades, but the likelihood is small, which is why there wasn't a fire there all the time this bloke was in the locker.
