Given the choice between the Nobel thing and free trip to New York, I'd do the same.
I expect the timing wasn't something that could really be planned differently seeing as the New York event is also to celebrate a Nobel award. Don't they hold these awards at the same time every year? It's the current award on one side and a former one on the other. I expect that it would have been nice to hold both in Sweden, but then perhaps they decided that they didn't want one to run the risk of upstaging another...
The event she is attending - women in science - is very worthy and is linked to the Nobel prize itself. Any anniversary of the award of any Nobel prize is bound to occur on 10th December !
Please don't dramatise things.
But Princess Madeleine have attended the ceremony already several times, so OK that she is not there.
http://www.thelocal.se/43622/20121004/ . Additionally tell - I was send my letters directly to the police and the prosecutor's office in Sweden, it is necessary to wait for their response...if King and his daughter to pay bribes... Can be they honest?
