Two people were arrested Monday afternoon following the stabbing of a 19-year-old man in connection with a fight at a high school in southern Sweden.

Another 19-year-old man was arrested on Monday afternoon suspected of attempted murder for the stabbing, which took place at Österänggymnasiet in Kristianstad.

Later in the day, a 40-year-old man was also arrested on suspicion of being an accomplice to attempted murder.

The 19-year-old victim is in serious condition, but his wounds aren’t considered to be life threatening.

“He is seriously injured but is able to speak, from what I understand,” Skåne police spokesperson Calle Persson told the TT news agency.

Police arrived at the school shortly after 2pm following a call about a fight. Upon arrival, they found the injured 19-year-old victim.

The fight broke out adjacent to the school’s maintenance office in an area that served as a makeshift student lounge.

“There were a lot of students present when the perpetrator came up from behind and stabbed the 19-year-old in the back or neck,” student assistant Hany Isleem told the Dagens Nyheter (DN) newspaper.

Police interrogated a number of witnesses on Monday afternoon and were able to arrest the perpetrator within hours of the attack.

But the mood at the school remained subdued following the incident.

“The students are sad and upset,” principal Jenny Comstedt told the Expressen newspaper.

“They’ve been seen to by the school nurse and other staff. We’ve acted in line with the school’s emergency plan and made sure that there is someone to take care of them when they get home.”

It remains unclear what sparked the fight.

Just over a week ago a 17-year-old student was stabbed at a high school in Vallentuna north of Stockholm. The student was stabbed when he was on his way in to the school.

He was seriously injured and remained sedated for a day following the attack.

My cousin has 3 sons that go to that school! Terrible situation.

Hot blooded exhibition of Intolerance. Primitive weapon. Macho, injured pride, honour style back stabbing.

A simple one really as it bears all the behavioural hallmarks of cherub faced, crackling voice, post pubescent Swedish youths.

What a terrible scene. If the school knew of an already existing misunderstanding between these people, they should have intervened immediately.

but please... do not discipline the kids.. it is against the law !! let them run amok.

Friend of ours is a teacher and she got spat on, in the face by a student who failed a test, in front of the entire class. And all she was allowed to do is say "don't do that again" and send him to the principal for detention.. SICK...

were they swedish? was the kid getting vengeance for being bullied? more details would help clarify what happened.

yea, southern sweden, near malmo i bet, then it is clear whom did it, hassan, fatima or dilsa's jounior?

None of the involved are swedish. The arrested 19 year old is Omar Ahmed. The 47 year old is his father. Apparently this all started with the 19 year olds younger brothers. Something that dragged the entire family in. It has honour violence written all over it.

This probably wouldn't be news in their family's countries of descent. Swede's tend to fight things out vocally before blows are exchanged. This is cut first talk later.

if they are indeed of different culture then the news agency has to report such facts and not hide that there is a cultura problem in sweden .

The british pm, david cameron , gave a speech that if anyone else had said it they would be considered racists and islamophobes but its something that has been in peoples minds for some time.

his speech about the failures of multiculturalism basically holds the whole truth on the matter , and peoples opinions about it for the past 2 decades.

The funny thing is that its not exactly about multiculturalism, he doesnt mention anyone except muslims , so i guess everyone else has adapted and is fine....

if indeed this attack was of that nature then theres no point in hiding it. the sooner people can look into the matter the sooner we can start solving it.

I am trying to find more information on this case. I suspect the victim has done something serious to upset the persons who acted against him. We cannot assume he is completely innocent! We must live in a society where your held responsible for your actions.

We can only hope that these people get sent back to the countries they came from, but I would be utterly surprised if Sweden actually did that. I don't understand how we can allow them to continue to do their honor killings in our country.

But, as many say, it is only a matter of time when we all will be under Sharia law.

It's Sweden's youth that are blindly voting this scum into power.

Then they stand back and wonder what the FK just Happened.

You better Wake the FK up Sweden, you are about to slide into the Toilet like Holland to US.

Be very very careful what you wish for.

You & your Children's Future may just depend on it.
