They may seem cuddly now but you have no idea how bad life would be if they came to power. Check the stats on how many millions the communists killed under Stalin.
History shows anyone who can read or think would be first
Jonas Sjöstedt is a very competent man, the Left Party made right choice.
Communism is not socialism - these lefties and people like uname are trying to hide their proposed tyrany and oppression behind socialism- if you are a socialst there already is a party
What, exactly, does the Left Party have to do with the acts of Stalin or any other dictator? The Left Party has fought for democracy both in the political sphere and at the workplace for a century, which is more than can be said for the parties in the current government. It is along with the Greens one of only two parties in parliament to consequently oppose the expansion of the police state such as the FRA law and the data retention directive. It is the only party that has consequently opposed venture capitalists taking over our welfare system to profit off of understaffing and providing substandard services only to send the profits off to Jersey untaxed.
If you think the Social Democratic party of today is a socialist party I can only laugh (or should I cry?) at your ignorance, they were behind many of the neo-liberal reforms of the 1990's, including the selling of Telia including the entire telecommunications infrastructure. The Left Party is the only socialist party in Sweden today.
If you are communist at least be honest and try and defend it - if you dare
it's mostly an issue of tax revenue
@mcchatter
It is the result of democracy -Norway's politics is traditionally been influenced by the temperence movement so traditionally these elected politicians vote for high alcohol taxes
Left equals Communist.
Choose your favourite communist state feature - human rights abuses, loss of democracy, secret police, poverty
But not for the chosen few in the Left Communist party
You're actually Ricky Perry, aren't you?
Presume the first part of your name is à giveaway for wanting communism
With the second name I would be very worried if they came to power
