Demonstrations were held in several Swedish cities on Saturday to protest against Sweden's foreign minister Carl Bildt, questioning his suitability for the role.

REFLECTIONS OF A TWITTER VIRGIN…. »
"I confess to having been reluctant to embrace Twitter. But I confess myself a bit of a convert. The great TV critic Clive James once said about “Dallas”, “I came to mock but I stayed to pray”. I wouldn’t go that far, but I have found my first two weeks on Twitter (@hmapauljohnston) both fun and informative. It’s been..." READ »

Demonstrations against Rheinfelt and Borg would also be good.
A country cannot be steered by balls otherwise Iran, Israel, etc were the best countries to live on!
Actually women would be better leaders than the back slapping idiots that Sweden has at present.
You may find it hard to believe, but women are just as capable as men at leading and quite often more capable.
Ever hear of Boudica, Queen Medb, Queen Victoria, etc?
Sexual hatred and insecurity has no place in politics.
Boudica : Medallion wearing Ginge, hanging out in London (glorified chav? ... RICKY!)
Queen Medb : mythological BS (And Irish to boot LOL)
Queen Victoria : Heavy drugs user
Yeah their really great examples / NOT
On a plus side (according to your own statements) you have Beatrice Ask in Sweden, Sarah Pahlin in the US .... yeah choosing women based on their sexual distinction is really smart
Protesters should be listened by the government and intervene the burning matters which need immediate resolution. i extend my regards to the local news in English, contributors and readers.
More sobering was the fact that thousands of people held rallies all over the world yesterday to try and save the demise of SAAB. I too participated, and there is no mention in The Local.
Because of some ministerial apathy, some 14,000 people in Western Sweden (the trickle down effect)are facing long-term unemployment. This did not have to happen if the Government had not put so many stumbling blocks in the way. Now the Treasury will be pouring out millions in unemployment benefits, when good paying jobs could contribute taxes. Unlike the US that has a massive deficit, Sweden actually has a surplus that could be used to help the restructure of SAAB untill they get back on their feet.
ACCORDING TO WHO? COMMUNIST REPORTER MARTIN SCHIBBEY...who was caught with armed Somali terrorists crossing border into Ethiopia.
Mr. Schibbey used to be the editor for the magazine "Rebell", the official paper of "RKU", Sweden's Revolutionary Communist Party's youth organisation. Communism á la Marxism Leninism.
Mr. Schibbey and his comrades declared that Sweden only can be reformed by revolution, armed revolution if necessary, and that Stalin's murderous campaigns, terrors equalling Hitler's, were mere fabrications of the ruling class and thus untrue.
As for the concept of democracy, Mr. Schibbey and "RKU" proclaimed that the dictatorship of the proletariat is the ultimate form of democracy.
Obviously Mr. Schibbey deserves a fair trial; nonetheless it seems ironic that Mr. Schibbey now is on the receiving end of a totalitarian Marxist Leninist state's legal system.
instead of blaming the victim why dOnt you criticize The real terrorist and the real Communist which is Ethiopia's ruling Rebels, the TPLF?
Is this Sweden's version of Occupy Wall Street? It is pitiful. Sweden has someone with real world experience so it appears they need to get rid of him because some radicals make unsubstantiated allegations about something that took place in a third world hell hole..
Who knows the motive for sure? I'd say it would be wise to keep a watch on the USA's proposed SOPA and PIPA Acts. Does the USA have a right to police the internet worldwide?
So you consider women to be inferior.
I assume you want to live in a world only populated by hot sweaty men.
Your mysogny is noted.
Here in Amerika, they prepare once again for another resource-extraction war, this time with Iran.
The phony Wall Street-sponsored presidential elections will give us either Romney of Wall Street (the private bankster) or Obama of Wall Street (he who appoints the private banksters and Wall Street lobbyists to his administration).

Seriously, Sweden is becoming more and more like the USA every day --- something to be guarded against!
That's just not good enough. If Mr Bildt, or Lundin Oil have broken the law, then they must be prosecuted and punished. But so far, after intensive investigations by journalists who even searched the mountains of Ethiopia, there remains nothing but suspicion and probes. It's way past time for these people to either prove it, or go away.
@byke & Nemesis: Queen Victoria was head of State she did NOT govern the country, that privilege was left to her Prime Minister all of them men.
Dictators feel uncomfortable if ( CARL BILDT ) gets in trouble.
Dictators based upon ( CARL BILDT ) protection and the other western authorities' like him support dare to execute and suppress their own people with brutality.
They steal the wealth of the country to put in their pockets and in their protectors' pockets.
By so provided poverty, people for the basic needs of daily life have to sell their bodies' organs the same as kidneys, eyes etc for being able to live for a while; thanks to MISTER Carl Bildt and friends heartlessness, unfortunately!
Carl Bildt has been on Lundin's board of directors for around 12 years now. There were claims(backed up by UN & Canadian govt reports) that the company's activities in the Sudan made the war there even worse. Then the 2010 'Unpaid Debt' report suggested Lundin MAY have been complicit in 'war crimes and crimes against humanity' (which they deny)
Not enough perhaps yet, to prove criminal responsibility, but I wonder how much 'drip drip' of bad publicity will be needed to leave Mr Bildt with a bad political 'smell'?
