An anti-immigrant website has urged readers to infiltrate a group focused on helping undocumented immigrants in Sweden in order to turn them over to police.

The campaign by the Sweden Democrat-linked website Avpixlat (literally, "unpixelated", but also a Swedish colloquialism meaning to "reveal" or "unmask"), comes in response to a call for help in finding housing for a family of undocumented immigrants published on Facebook last week by asylum advocacy group Asylgruppen Lund.

The website, launched in October 2011, was registered by Sweden Democrat MP Kent Ekeroth, and contains material which echoes the party's negative line on immigration, multicultural society, and the mainstream Swedish media.

“Right now Asylgruppen Lund is looking for criminals in Sweden who are willing to offer housing to some illegals,” reads a posting on Avpixlat published on January 20th, the day following the Facebook appeal by Asylgruppen Lund.

The anti-immigrant website called on readers to respond to the request by the asylum advocacy group in order to “infiltrate” the organization and gather as much information as possible about the undocumented immigrants in need of housing and then hand the information to police.

According to Avpixlat, the action will ensure that “both the criminals included in the group can be brought to justice and the illegals with whom they are acting as complicit criminals can be turned over to the authorities and kicked out of the country”.

Kenny Källström, a representative from Asylgruppen Lund told Sveriges Television (SVT) that the group had received several fake responses to their request.

“It's an embarrassing attempt to infiltrate us,” he told SVT.

“It's a terrible way to sabotage those of us who are working to help families who have a real need for protection.”

According to Källström, the family referenced in the housing request is from Afghanistan and have had their asylum application rejected and are to be deported.

In a comment to SVT, the editor of Avpixlat, Lennart K, said the site wants to fight against people staying in Sweden illegally.

“We want to stop these illegal activities, which we also see as anti-democratic and detrimental to society,” he said.

While Avpixlat characterizes the housing of rejected asylum seekers and undocumented immigrants as “criminal”, Migration Board (Migrationsverket) spokesperson Johan Rahm told SVT such activities aren't illegal.

“Helping or hiding the undocumented isn't in any way criminal,” he said, adding however that staying in Sweden without a valid residence permit is indeed illegal.

@TheLocal What's a "webite"? You need to fix the headline.
09:58 January 25, 2012 by uunbeliever
What we need is a webite (website) to turn in all the Swedes who claim unemployment insurance or other benefits falsely. I know of at least 2 Swedes who live like kings in Kenya and collect barnbidrag, bostadsbidrag, föräldrarpenning and sjukpenning...

or those illegally subletting flats and ripping off the secondary tenants by charging a higher rent than the primary tenant is paying.

If creating such a site is being reported in the light it is then the inference is that illegal immigration is fine. Or?
11:20 January 25, 2012 by bourgeoisieboheme
illegal is illegal. Helping bank robbers is illegal. Helping illegal aliens is illegal. This is the law. period. I commend the SD for trying to assist law and order in sweden. They have my vote.

Helping someone commit an illegal act is not illegal. That is so crazy it is probably true. Sweden, why?
13:01 January 25, 2012 by nathan45
There is a reason its called illeagal imigration because its ileagle why are they illeagal because undocumented migrants are a threat and even the ones who may not be a threat they are still a drag on society.
13:03 January 25, 2012 by jostein
Helping an illegal immigrant avoid the law is most probably not illegal in sweden. However, offering people money for doing this most probably is illegal. And this is what Avpixlat claim this organization is doing and thats the "newsvalue" of the first article.

It's amazing how some people go blind to the word 'illegal'.

Society needs to come up with a cure for that potentially fatal disease.

It is illegal to harbour illegal immigrants in Sweden if you do it for profit. An example would be if you recieve money from a group to hide illegal immigrants. An example that describes this case perfectly. The group "Asylgruppen Lund" offerd families to hide an adult and two kids and get payed for it. It`s clearly illegal by the wording of the law.

And since avpixlat was mentioned in the mainstream media the site is down by DDoS attacks. Those that fear to let their opponents speak have little confidence in their own message.

Why do some people find it so difficult to acknowledge the distinction between legal immigration and illegal immigration. The writer of this article has gone out of his way to blur, conflate and obfuse the differences between legal and illegal immigrants. How about a little journalistic integrity from The Local.

What about 'leaking' Asylgruppen Lund's files to Wikileaks and Julian Assange? Shouldn't ALL criminal organizations be publicly humiliated by having their secrets revealed? Let the court of public opinion be the arbiter.

I suggest that you should take a long and careful look around your country and note the growth and demands of all these Muslims as their ultimate goal is to gain control through population forcing Swedish culture out. And don't kid yourselves as it will happen unless you stop all their immigration. The same goes for Norway, Denmark, Finland and the rest of Europe. It may not happen within the next 5-10 or 20 years, but you have to be blind not to see this encroachment. We have a similiar problem in USA, but it has not reached the level as in all of Western Europe.
