Swedish cannibal blogs from behind bars

Isakin Jonsson, convicted of murdering and eating his girlfriend in 2011, is blogging from behind bars about his life, new love and the murder.

"Most people say at least once in their life that they couldn't take someone else's life, but once you have done it, it is no big deal anymore," Jonsson wrote according to daily Aftonbladet.

The relatives of his victim Helle Christensen, a 40-year-old mother of five, are appalled that Jonsson is allowed to blog.

“It makes me so angry that I don’t know how to put words on how I feel. It hurts so much and I feel as if I am boiling over inside,” his victim’s sister told local newspaper Borås Tidning (BT).

Jonsson, or ”the Skara Cannibal” was convicted in March 2011 of the gruesome killing of his then girlfriend Christensen. After stabbing her to death with a knife, Jonsson cut off her head and other parts of her body.

Jonsson phoned and alerted the police himself, according to Aftonbladet, and when officers arrived at the flat they were shocked to see that Jonsson had seasoned, fried and eaten part of his victim.

However, after meeting a new love behind bars at the Karsuddens psychiatric facility near Katrineholm in eastern Sweden, Jonsson has told the press that he really had felt no compunction to eat his ex-girlfriend but only did so to seem sick and get psychiatric treatment instead of jail time.

This is also a subject which features in his blog.

“I can be convicted but not punished with anything else than continued treatment. Don’t people understand that this is just a game and only the beginning? Don’t they realize I consciously made sure I got here,” he wrote in his blog according to Aftonbladet.

In January, Jonsson and his new girlfriend Michelle Gustafsson, she herself convicted of murdering a father of four in Stockholm in 2010 and publishing pictures of herself as a vampire with a bloodied mouth, on her personal blog, went public with their love.

Being inmates at the same facility, the unlikely couple found each other and spent a lot of time on an internet chat room.

All inmates at the facility are allowed internet access and mobile phones as long as they are not committing any criminal acts, according to Aftonbladet.

“With rules like this it feels as if society is allowing me and other relatives crime victims to be insulted," said Christensen’s sister to BT.

why the hell are such criminals or any criminal allowed internet access from jail ?

Whats to stop them from tracking people down after they get out because of internet discussions.

internet is a freedom no criminal should have.

No wonder it often seems that the police are operating with one hand tied behind their back and one eye blindfolded. They can't even be sure that when they have obtained a conviction that the offender ceases criminal activity!

I am in favour of rehabilitation - yet, it seems that society should be in control of that program, not the criminal!

Once in custody you cannot walk the streets but you can surf and taunt the world.

It seems wrong.

Aha! ..no condemnation from the Swedish crowd! ..where are all the immigrant-haters on this? ..or just because his name sounds really Swedish you all scamper for cover and hide your embarrassed faces? ...talk about double standards!

Allowing psychiatric care patients to keep blogs in fact sounds like a perfect way to monitor their behaviour and state of mind. And we're lacking information in this article - how did they find his blog? How did he happen to find another blog by a woman at the same institution? To me it appears that this is a website set up by the hospital itself (including chatrooms) precisely as a way to monitor them. Actually makes a great deal of sense.

Ahh, Swedish prisons. The best prisons on earth. It makes me ashamed of being Swedish.

Did he eat his girlfriend with a bottle of Chianti. That's what I'd like to know
20:07 February 24, 2012 by Coalbanks
So is he offering cooking tips?

Actually he is in a mental health institution not a prison. He wanted to avoid prison after killing her or so he claims but anyone who voluntarily enters a mental ward should view One Flew Over thee Cuckoo's Nest first.

You should have realised by now there are few to none, actual swedish citizens by birth in local. ok And it is not wise to bring out racist based comments out of no where. Otherwise there will be no difference between others and you

This guy is a cunning psychopath and shame on Swedish doctors for not recognising it! Psychopathy cannot be cured, the onl solution is life in prison. This man, if released, will do something horrible again as psychopaths have no conscience that would stop them from satisfying their urges.
06:50 February 25, 2012 by jomamas
immigrant-haters?

Immigrants regardless of their backgrounds, abilities or intentions, brought into Sweden in large enough numbers, will completely evaporate Swedish culture.

Whether this guy is an immigrant or not is irrelevant.

What is relevant is how the pathetic Swedes let a freakish, evil, sicko like this have any kind of life, and to make a name and identity for himself by making national headlines.

Progressivism is death.
18:52 March 13, 2012 by Gjeebes
well come now, wouldn't want to be accused of not treating everyone equally. you and I have internet, and can type our warped ideas out here on the local any ole time. why shouldn't a man eating woman killer be treated any differently? But seriously, that this could be possible, is no surprise in Sweden. Maybe it will count as re-entering society therapy (cause we all know Sweden's answer to all ills is more counseling, and perhaps pointless "discussion meetings" that continue without end to no conclusion), which with any luck, will get this monster out early. Way to go Sweden. Your idiotic obsession with trying to make everything equal with gum-drop smiles and candy rivers for all strikes again.

What life in prison? Most convicts spend 18-20 years behind bars and are then released. Those sent to mental health facilities like, Karsudden and Säter, spend anything from 6 months up to a few years there. They usually get released when their room is needed for another fruit cake.
