Eight men charged over brutal gang rape

Eight men who were detained on gang rape allegations in December have been charged on Friday for the brutal rape of a woman in a Migration board (Migrationsverket) flat last year.

The men allegedly raped the woman at a party in Eksjö, southern Sweden, in the early hours of December 3rd. They were apprehended swiftly after the incident and have been detained since.
The woman, a 29-year-old mother of two, had been drinking beforehand at the party, which was held in a flat inhabited by asylum seekers.
However, the eight men allegedly took the woman into a bedroom, tore off her clothes, held down on a bed and proceeded to take turns raping her.
The men are said to have restrained her by holding her hips, arms and shoulders against the bed, and covered her mouth to prevent her from screaming.
Prosecutors have labelled the incident as a planned attack.
According to the prosecutor, Gunnar Brodin, the woman had been drinking alcohol at the party and was incapacitated, a state which the rapists exploited.
After the attack, the woman waited for the men to leave or fall asleep, and then alerted police herself.
The charge is divided into two parts. In the first, seven of the men are accused of rape, while the eighth is accused of abetting or inciting others to rape, wrote the TT news agency.
Brodin describes the rape as serious, meaning that the sentencing range is four to ten years imprisonment.
Of the eight men prosecuted, seven face deportation if found guilty according to the prosecutor's demands.

what are you really trying to say, that she wasn't raped and just wants compensation.
The article says she was held down, so unless you know more than the court, you should avoid unsubstantiated comments. Your comments are also libellous and could make the Local and yourself subject to prosecution in any country in which the Local.se is available. Given the nastiness of your comments a court case would be well deserved.

But, it does not matter if there were no other women at the flat. Does this means that the eight men have the "right" to rape her?
Unfortunately, we are not in the USA, where they would get life sentence or dead penalty, depending on the State. Here is Sweden and I would not be surprised if the woman will be obliged to pay the men for their sufferings while raping her. We shall see, what we shall see.
If this is the attitude of immigrants that have already settled in, there is little hope for Scandinavia.
They should get life because they will do it again upon release. This is partof their culture where it is okay to prey on a woman that does not cover her face and does not have a male guardian.

Which cultures approve rape?! Even if you are sick enough to approve rape it doesn't mean your culture approves it. There are thousands of rape incident in the US and Europe but it cannot represent a culture. It is a crime! Your narrow minded brain only likes to see people according to their culture belongings not their individual qualifications.
You make a valid point, but let's just say that 20% of the rapes committed in my city are done by Jamaicans(it's not true, just an example), when they make up only 1/100 of the city's population. That would make a good case wouldn't it?

rape (in it`s ugly definition) is NOT a part of the MENA culture, in some MENA countries, the punishment is harder than the above sentence or that for Patrick Johnsson.
