Of her "free" Swedish healthcare experience, Virtanen said "I feel that I was tortured. It was humiliating and inhumane."
Virtanen says her doctor often yelled at her and threatened her with additional shocks. In total, doctors have shocked Virtanen around 300 times, and as a result, she now has memory and concentration difficulties. Though Virtanen reported the doctor to police, she was ignored. Nothing was done.

St. Lars is the psychiatric division of Lund University hospital. St. Lars was a Christian martyr who was imprisoned, then burned to death on a grill. He is, thus now, the patron saint of cooks and chefs. Perhaps patients start fires in his honor?
