Student chokes principal over slow computer

A student at a school Malmö, in southern Sweden, who was angry that he couldn’t get his computer to work, went berserk on Monday, throwing furniture around and trying to strangle the principal.

“It feels ok now, but it was a bit unpleasant,” the principal Martin Erberth told local paper Skånskan.

According to the paper, the student got annoyed after he couldn’t get one of the school computers to work and started to throw furniture around, lobbing billiard balls out of the windows.

He also walked around school premises smoking cigarettes and refusing to stop, despite being told to do so by staff.

When the boy’s teachers couldn’t stop him from acting up, the principal was called in.

However, the boy then became even more aggressive, kicking at them and taking a stranglehold on the surprised Erberth, according to the paper.

Finally, police officers managed to overpower the boy, whom they think was under the influence of drugs, and take him down to the station.

The boy is now under suspicion of threatening behaviour, damaging public property and narcotics crimes.

The boy also filed a separate report against the school after the incident, according to the paper.

Naughty, naughty!

The poor student deserves a light slap on the wrist, a pat on the head, and a shiny new computer of his own.

I know a lot of school principals that have been "on the edge" of strangling students but have pulled themselves back fron the edge at the very last second.

Typical! I can just imagine what that computer looks like. I Explorer 6.something, Adobe Reader 8, probably XP that never went to Service Pac 3, Jav 16. I think you get the picture. The number of people that I see in publc who deliberately cancel updates is mind-boggeling,

This is even worse on puplic computers like schools and libraries. I see many people who have no anti-virus becaise the initial subscription expired and everything else is out of date. One of the best free tools is the New Secunia PSI Beta 3 updater which does most updates automatically. I love the Opera 11.62 Browser which is so much more secure and faster than the rest. I have very few problems but most don't take the time to avoid trouble.

While I do not normally/usually condone/support violence I must agree that it may be allowable in instances of such extreme provocation...Put the little darling on a chaingang for 6 months cleaning the streets!

So, ah, let me see, some innocent, tow-headed, blond-haired, blue-eyed Swede took after his principal, because the computer was slow. Sure, okay, this probably happens all over Sweden everyday.

It happened in Malmö! Am I surprised???
