Swedish teens in shock child rape reversal

A 19-year-old woman from central Sweden who accused a 13-year-old boy of raping her has instead been convicted for sexually exploiting a minor.

The woman, who hails from the town of Skövde in central Sweden, initially accused the young boy of raping her after a sexual encounter the pair shared, wrote the local Nya Lidköpings-Tidningen newspaper on Wednesday.

But doubts about the woman's claims surfaced following an investigation into the matter, which instead led to the 19-year-old woman finding herself charged with child rape and for submitting a false statement to police.

Prosecutors took the case to Skaraborg District Court, which ruled that it was in fact the woman who was had taken the lead in the affair.

According to the court, the 19-year-old woman had lied in her witness testament about what had transpired between her and the 13-year-old boy.

The evidence, the court ruled, suggested that she had may have been guilty of child rape.

In the end, however, the court convicted the 19-year-old woman of sexually exploiting a minor, rather than child rape, for the sexual relations shared between the two.

Finding the 19-year-old guilty, the court sentenced her to 100 hours of community service.

In addition, she was ordered to to attend a “Relationships and Social Life” correctional programme (Relation och Samlevnad) offered by the Skövde criminal ward.

The woman has since confessed to both sexually exploiting the boy, and to giving a false statement about the incident to police.

100 hours of community service? That's just great. I wonder what the sentence would have been for the boy. Even if he did that, he would have gotten a much harsher sentence, just because he's a boy, and boys rape, right.

What's wrong with girls in Sweden. What could she possibly gain from falsely accusing a 13 year old boy of raping her. How is that even possible...?

This is the second time this week reading about a women who falsely accuse men of rape. This is an increasing trend lately. Soon enough, nobody will actually believe any true rape.

lol

why would a swedish girl do it? I mean she can have anyone as her partner by just going out on friday or saturday night as it is the norm in sweden.

And only 100 hours of community service for minor sexual exploitation ?? i think this is being too soft on the convicted teen

#2, This article has nothing to do with adults who engange in consensual sex. If you don't approve, don't participate. But don't expect women in Sweden to grow cobwebs between their legs because of passive-aggressive posts from someone who is, most likely, sexually repressed/frustrated. :(

I think i commented on the true spirit of the article, and rightly pointed out that there must be no reason for the girl to be sexually frustrated which could lead her to this crime. Anyway now she is convicted, do you think 100 hours of service suffice ? I dont think so

I suspect that the girl wanted sex with a minor and also to have some kind of financial compensation. The boy was a choice; one that would not lead to a conviction on his part in the court of law. But she was hoping to still get some money...She is just a Swedish girl :)

women who falsely accuse men of rape is every day life here, gold diggers bitches looking foe a fast buck

Now think how the sentence would be if this was a 19 year old male and a 13 year old child (regardless of gender). They'd throw the book at him. Gotta love Feminism ;)

Adolescent boys who are sexually abused by an adult woman may feel emasculated and may worry about how others will perceive their masculinity (Hislop, 2001) or fear that they will be blamed and even accused of sexually assaulting the woman. Some female perpetrators have been found to use such (gender) social constructions to minimise the likelihood of disclosure. For example, one woman who sexually abused an adolescent boy told he boy that the would be charged with rape as he was the male (Saradjian, 1996b).

Is this case really such a "shock child rape reversal"? or is our lack of acceptance awareness & understanding of female perpetrated child rape the real shocking fact behind this case?

Sentence is comic from the standpoint of the law. But 13 years old is not child anymore than young teenager. I was drunk first time when I was 12 and in that time I went out in the city every night (cafe bars, concerts, school dance parties, etc). Young people are not stupid if they are young, let them to live their life and if they want, they should have sex. 13 and 19 is not big difference, I was high when i was 13 and I could lie that I am older. I remember one time I was 9 or 10 and girl thought I am 14, so, she was 13 and sent friend to ask me to come to her to speak, but I told her I am just 4th grade in the school and she was surprised.

Gosh when I was 13, all I had were magazines.

Yeah, right.Playboy?

But seriously, do not let the rejection affect the whole of your life.

At least you had the magazines. Now, when I was 13 we lived in a cardboard box - no lid - and we never even saw a magazine. The nearest we got to that was a picture torn out of a newspaper and when it was cold we would pin it on the side of the cardboard box and gather round this crumpled picture of a stove.

There should be different laws applying to women who have sex with consenting (often eager) minor boys as differentiated from adults (male or female) who have sex with minor girls or adult males who have sex with under-aged boys.

As to the former case, how many such boys complained about the sexual encounter? Or did they boost of it and this was the catalyst for it coming to the attention of the ever-present, nanny-state 'authorities.'

that will learn her to keep her mouth shut when she opens the other end!

Maybe the young lad was just too eager and unexperienced and she did not get what she was after ......poor reason to call foul.

there are plenty of us who would show her how it is done!

some one should remind her it is 100 hours community service not 100 hours of servicing the community!

Jeff10 - As to the former case, how many such boys complained about the sexual encounter?

More to the point Jeff10 what would you do to a boy who wanted to complain about a sexual encounter with a woman? Would you intimidate & threaten him into not complaining just because you refuse to accept that he has been sexually abused and exploited by a woman?

When I was in my early to mid-teens, I would have loved to have been seduced by a 19-year-old woman. What she did wrong was to falsely accuse him of rape. The idea someone posted that a teenage boy would feel "emasculated" by having sex with an older woman seems very strange to me. I would have thought the opposite, that he would feel that it would prove his manhood. Is that just theorising in books, or is it that people react so differently?

@ Equality:

Well, you might have a point, but the problem with your 'theory' is that you can't point to one source/newstory/etc. wherein a boy complained about such an encounter. What has happened in most cases is that the relationship was discovered either by school authorities or parents of the child.

Again, name one such boy who complained about being seduced by his female teacher. Just one. And cite the source.
