5-year-old ‘sold’ drugs in major Swedish drug bust

Dozens of people in northern Sweden have been charged after police busted a drug ring in which a 5-year-old girl had allegedly handed out hashish and taken payment.

They were responsible for smuggling a total of 52 kilogrammes of hashish, 2,000 ecstasy tablets and two kilogrammes of amphetamines into Sweden from continental Europe, a haul which they stashed in a cellar along with several prohibited weapons.
According to one of the drug ring's customers, a man who appeared in court on Monday, there were often young children present when he visited the drug dealers at their base in Sundsvall, wrote the Aftonbladet newspaper.
One of the ringleaders’ children, aged five, allegedly acted as a mule during the selling of the hash, taking payment for a transaction and passing the money on to her father.
The man told the court that the front door to the house was often opened by young children who would ask if he was visiting “to buy smokes”.
The contraband drugs were smuggled by the ringleaders during two trips to Holland and Germany in the spring of 2011.
It is reported that the five ringleaders, who range from 22- to 40-years-old, have ties to the notorious Malmö-based “Bandidos” motorcycle gang.
The bust has seen a total of 46 people charged for drug crimes and aggravated drug crimes.
