'You are a bloody racist': suspect's mother

The mother of suspected serial killer Peter Mangs was shocked when he was arrested for the Malmö shootings despite admitting to him having shown signs of xenophobia in the past.

Her first reaction upon hearing of his arrest was telling officers that the suspicions against her son were “idiocy”.

“It seems inconceivable that it is Peter who is responsible for this, she told the police in interrogation, according to daily Aftonbladet.

Mangs used to see his mother regularly, according to the paper, at least every other week. He would be on the computer while she would be busy with her needle work.

She told police that her son would sometimes complain about the upkeep of the neighbourhood where he lived. He would say that it was the “foreigners” that were responsible for the mess.

“Then I would tell him ‘You’re a bloody racist. Shut up," the mother told the police.

Despite this, Mangs' mother found it hard to believe that he had a weapons licence and was active in a local gun club. According to the mother, Mangs’ interests lay elsewhere, being more into crafts like wood-carving than sharp-shooting.

According to the paper, she was also sceptical about her son being diagnosed with Asperger.

“He was born with a slightly enlarged head, so he had to have an operation, but they said it would not give any complications,” she said, reported Aftonbladet.

nowhere the haters to comment??? not even a single one? If Peter was from some of those "countries"...hmm
12:25 May 9, 2012 by Migga
I didn`t know he was found guilty, perhaps you know more then me awash? I`ll be the first to condem his actions when I know which actions he has been found guilty of doing.

The mother's naïvety is outstanding.
15:06 May 9, 2012 by prince T
Migga is a popular anti immigratrant commentator and I look forward to hearing from him when the case is over. or as awash will call it haters.

I am also suprised that there is virtually no comment here.
15:25 May 9, 2012 by Migga
@ prince T

I`m happy that you await my comments. There has already been murder charges dropped and in one of the cases the victim was a swedish girl. There is so much going on in this case, it`s taken several months to get it to court, that I for one sure wouldn`t wanna say anything beforehand.

Oh, Prince T woke up! Where was he and awash in the empty and silent forum about the little helper to the suicide bomber from "one of those" countries?

Oh, they forgot to comment... How unfortunate. The silence there was roaming...

ANY racist should be condemned. The nazi one and the muslim one. Equally, as their views are absolutely similar about minorities.

inni meeny mena moo... whos side should i take ?
20:35 May 9, 2012 by Uncle
@muscle

Take the side of those who do not kill people who do not share their views/race/religion.

Take the side of those who do not think that it is racist to mention those who kill people who do not share their views/race/religion.

Take the side of those who do not justify those who kill people who do not share their views/race/religion.

Finally, take the side of those who do not claim that saying that it is not OK to kill people who do not share similar views/race/religion is xenophobic and racist.

Easy.

Well said, Uncle.

seriously, @Migga? all the circumstantial evidences are screaming loud about Peter's crimes, nevertheless since he's from you know where he's you're defending him. However Yonas Fikre with an alleged petty crimes was already proven guilty by the likes of you before he even brought to justice, just because he's...you know what? his story is in one of the top 3 most read/commented list on TL and fetched bigoted/stereotyped/racist 92 comments, whereas Peter the cold-blooded/racist/serial killer got NONE http://www.thelocal.se/40368/20120419/ it's sick some people are flooding with trash threads so long it's about immigrants; doesn't matter if the story is negative or positive

Racists who kill people are bad. That's all there is.
