Playing the race card means bringing up racism or racists when the argument was not about race in the first place. In this case, Jes (who is probably a racist him/herself) is playing the race card.
The winner was born in Stockholm - so Stockholm it is then. Why should the country where the parents of the winner comes from host it?
As you may notice , less intelligent @towns does not get it . He , probably has not heard that some "party" had argued-( call it playing the race card ) -that Sweden could never win if the singer is an African immigrant and her dancer is a black guy . The " party" suggested that Loreen needed a white blond dancer to trap votes from some quaters . Loreen and a lot of non-racists refused .
Now we know she was right , don´t we ?
You can make disparaging remarks all you want but I was not incorrect in my original assertion!

Wait a minute. So, what you're saying is that 99% of the US population are not Americans then?? Recall that Native Indians were the original settlers in America.

No, a Swedish town doesn't have a "borgmästare" (mayor) but a "kommunalråd" which there doesn't seem to be any English word for.
I thought Loreen was born in Västerås, not Stockholm, oh well...
