Swedish star footballer Zlatan was at the centre of a series of fracas in the Swedish dressing room on a turbulent night for Erik Hamren's side during its Euro 2012 opener in Kiev on Monday night.

If you were a football-loving alien watching last night's game, it would be 100% clear that Zlatan's was far in the way the best player on the pitch. Obviously he has his height and physical strength, but he has skill, control and awareness as wall as that essential ability for strikers - to pop up in the right place as the right time to score goals - and if that's 1 metre out, so be it.
Frankly he is the perfect modern striker and his record for the top clubs in Europe proves this. The problem playing for an "average" team like Sweden is that his teammates seem to often to use him as an easy outlet - playing long balls up to him instead of passing / taking risks. Against better defences, Sweden will need more dimensions to their attacking play (and will need to defend better!)
If there is a downside to Zlatan perhaps its his perceived work rate - this may be one reason why he has never moved to the English Premier League....but if you play for Milan, Barcelona etc I doubt he is that bothered.
Is it just me or is it the case that if Zlatan was named Bjorn and was born in Uppsala, he would be the complete Swedish hero.........
On top, I would put Zlatan as a striker and not someone behind the striker or number 10. Yes, he can give very good passes, but the guy is slow so you need someone quick and fast in the midfield.
Zlatan as striker and he should be surrounded by wing mates, who could provide him with headers.
Sweden has a good team, but the coach is not doing his job...
If you wanna blame someone blame this Lustig guy. He was such an amateur on the pitch. If you take the front post you take it and cover it, not just stand next to it and watch the ball go while covering your gentlemans region like an amateur teenager player!
