Politician jailed after sex with disabled woman

A Swedish local politician who also worked driving vehicles to transport disabled people has been jailed for molesting a disabled woman after being caught having sex with the woman in the back of his van.
When they entered the van, police caught the man in the act.
The politician, whose day job was as a disabled transportation driver, drove the woman every day and had long been suspected by the woman’s family.
It was subsequently revealed that the man had had sex with the disabled woman on a number of occasions between September and December last year.
During his trial, the man claimed that he and the woman were in a romantic relationship, but the court didn't buy the man's explanation.
He was found guilty and sentenced to 18 months in prison.
"The woman is dependent on being transported between her home and her daily activities and was in a dependent position vis-a-vis the driver," the Hudiksvall District Court wrote in its ruling, according to the Aftonbladet newspaper.
Despite the conviction, the man can continue to work as a politician, according to the local party chair.
"We don't have any legal way to remove him from the political assignment he has, but are going to try to get him to resign himself," the party official told Aftonbladet.
In addition to being sentenced to prison, the man was also ordered to pay 85,000 kronor ($12,100) in compensation to the disabled woman.

Disabled people are as entitled to a sex life as much as anyone else.
No... I think that they have simply forgotten to mention that the woman in this article is unable to consent to the relationship.
As someone who could conceivably physically overpower any objections and who was this woman's only transport, these two were not on equal footing.
This article needs to tell us more to justify the criminality of the sexual act and THE RATHER SEVERE PUNISHMENT of 18 months imprisonment.
Is the woman unable to give consent?
Was she forced or under duress to have sex?.
If not then we can frown at the unprofessional manner the man conducted himself. The frowning shouldn't go that far in the criminal scale.
Who knows, there might be a political motive to this sentence...A opportunity for political opponents to tarnish him :(
any supposition about the criminals' ethnicity? religion? Does this crime sounds "swedish" to you or will you blame a specific ethnic group? You re a swine too, a different one though.
After watching some the eufa matches, i am strongly convinced that swedish men like nydag and co are like the russians and ukrainian racist. they will like to show nazi salute, beat up immigrants and so on. the only problem with swedish men is that they have no balls. in their heart, they are exactly like the russian racists. they is why they pounce on dead bodies, animals, children and the disabled.
Secondly you are generalizing so repulsively the Swedish men group that any argument you might have is ultimately null and void. There are plenty coragous swedes, not least on politician/historical level, just naming Raoul Wallenberg because of the latest infos but also Folke Bernadotte, Olof Palme, Dag Hammarskjöld ... And taking eufa matches to base your analysis is totally irrelevant.
Also, on the whole I completely disapprove of the bullying of NYDag. I have no idea what he has done and nor do I care of it. We are not children.

Your comments were vulgar! Child rape is not to be made light of, nor bestiality... Perhaps I am too much of a soft touch but I am disappointed in some of the comments made by posters on this website that are not only vulgar but seem to be supported by the site admin (in that they have not been removed.)
I think I will hang up my coat in terms of posting here, I am looking for help regarding finding work and becoming a Swede but I don't think that this site is about that :)
