Sweden to give illegal immigrants healthcare

The Swedish government, together with the Green Party, on Thursday presented a framework agreement that will allow undocumented immigrants in Sweden to access state subsidized healthcare.

The healthcare agreement will give undocumented immigrants who entered Sweden illegally the same rights currently offered to legal asylum seekers.
Children up to 18 years of age will have the right to health coverage. Adults will also receive subsidized care for conditions that require urgent medical attention.
Maria Ferm of the Greens thanked the government for the cooperation on the issue, which her party says was key to a previous pledge to work with the centre-right Alliance parties on a common immigration policy.
“Children and adults are getting an extended right to healthcare and I want to say thank you that we are able to ensure an important step in human rights. The right to healthcare is a human right,” she said.
The original goal of the Green party was to provide the same healthcare rights for undocumented immigrants as those with permanent residence permits in Sweden.
Although this goal won't be achieved, Green Party spokesperson Åsa Romson sees the proposal as a step in the right direction.
“This has been a really important reform for the undocumented immigrants to have confidence in Swedish healthcare and to be able to get care when they need it, and to be able to turn to the hospital and health clinics,” she said.
The biggest success, according to her, is that children under 18 will have the same rights as Swedish children.
This means that they will not only have the right to emergency care, but also to dentistry and preventive care.
However, there still remain details that the Green Party are working on improving.
“There is, for example, undocumented immigrants’ right to education, which will be resolved shortly. But there will also be related to labour migration and the reunion of families,” Romson told TT.

Most of them are actually working illegally (black) becuase they have no means of living. i bet you that the so called rich are exploiting them to the maximum becasue they have no rights. The police, immigration and the business people know them very well.
I understand. I was just wondering how it is going to help or change anything for them when they are not supposed receive emergency service in the future anyway like many others.
You should see other comments like the one concerning 'immigration rules for EU countries'. They are openly spreading racism here. Some of them were even suggesting to ban interracial relationships and kids. I think some of the comments posted here can be criminally liable based on Swedish law. However as far as I know many of these posters are not even in Sweden and they have never seen Sweden during their lifetime. They just happen to understand English.
I mean, consider a situation: somebody collapses in the street - surely ANY civilized country would give medical care to that person, regardless of whether s/he is here illegally or not?

In Sweden there is no application for permanent resident permit. Someone who holds a resident permit(except students) for more than 4 years, automatically gets a permanent resident permit for the application for the fifth year.
As for the Green party politicians, they need to make a decision. Do they represent the law abiding, tax paying citizens of Sweden, or do they prefer to represent those from elsewhere who are breaking the law?
If Green politicians prefer to represent citizens from elsewhere, I am sure there are some excellent parties in those countries in need of dynamic new party members from Sweden. Those that choose to stay in Sweden really should focus on fulfilling the many needs of the legitimate Swedish population before offering their time and our thin resources to people who are here illegitimately
The more attractive you make Sweden for people who break the law to get what they want the more people you'll have breaking the law.

When you colonists have exterminated the last swede, who is a nazi then? I do not go to other countries and colonize them. I toil hard in my own country. There apparentlyy exists some law between Norway and Sweden which forbids this. (as indeed there is a Norwegian law which forbids the Norwegian wife of the Sweden living Englishman to drive their Sweden registered car in Norway!).
Not having a personummer means the englishman:
1. does not receive normal healthcare in Sweden
2. cannot even apply for a quotation from the UK to know how much UK pension he will receive.
3.has no rights in Sweden - even as an EU citizen!
So before all you right-wingers get off on foreign nationals flooding the country (as you yourself did in the great Swedish emigration in the 1800's), just know that they are some very genuine cases that get trapped in the rule quagmire!

Now, if a large number of people are entering Sweden illegally because they can't afford healthcare, or are denied medical treatment in their home countries - for whatever reasons - who can blame them? If someone told you that you had cancer and that without appropriate treatment you would die within a matter of months, and at the same you realized that you don't have any chance of treatment at home, wouldn't you do whatever it takes to get medical treatment?
I conjecture that illegal immigrants will have to turn themselves in, in order to get medical treatment in the first place. After that, most of them will probably be deported back.
However, entering the country illegally is an infringement of Swedish sovereign territory, i.e. a criminal offence, and subject to prosecution according to the Swedish constitution! Therefor, this resolution is most likely unconstitutional.
What angers me most is that this is being imposed on Swedish taxpayers! I am not prepared to pay taxes to support illegitimate resolutions by socialist-green tax-despots.
And obama was there sucking up to, and SUPPORTING them.
