A 31-year-old man was formally charged on Wednesday for uploading 25 films onto the internet using File Transfer Protocol, making him the first person charged in Sweden for using FTP to share copyrighted works.

They never talked about how he was caught. FTP goes to one place. So how did anyone outside their group know? How did the outsider get the password to the server. Sounds like more laws were broken to protect a DVD copyright than the infringement itself.
Ahh, I'd care more if I could even get an Internet connection to my house - other than a 3G dongle.
From those FTP servers they spread to peer-to-peer networks. So thelocal for once is reporting it accurately by calling the "elite" of file sharers.
and yeah great sweden crack down on file sharers they are worst than rapists and child molesters , and probably will get a higher sentence too.
If only they could call all criminals file sharers and deal with them instead of some fat loser in his basement
other wise anyone of the millions of people that have a media network in their homes is in big trouble especially Microsoft as it is their idea!
if the server is elsewhere then they have a case!
also if others download fro that server and are not using "anonymous" user then the issue is still hazy ...as it could still be classed personal use!
