Swedish mothers rage against balcony flasher

A man in Sandviken in central Sweden has been warned by authorities on two occasions for masturbating naked on his balcony, a fact that is making local mothers demand his eviction.

“We are looking after our children,” one of the mothers told local paper Gefle Dagblad.

The mothers organized a petition against the nude balcony masturbator and gathered 400 signatures demanding the man should be forced to move out of his rented apartment.

Mats Johansson at Sandvikenhus, the alleged flasher’s landlord, told the paper that they are working to solve the situation in a way that will be in the interest of all parties.

“To evict someone isn’t always the best solution. Wherever they live they could go and flash children at some playground,” he told GD.

However, Johansson also said that it would be hard for the landlord to keep the man on as a tenant if he flashes people from his balcony.

The mothers are scared that the man will prove to be a threat to the local children. But according to Johansson, he has spoken to the man’s psychiatric support staff and they are adamant that he doesn’t have any such tendencies.

However, the local mothers are not happy with these assurances.

“Flashers need to get care and we need to protect our children,” one said to the paper.

Good to see the police are so well involved in solving this issue of sexual misconduct.

I thought such graphic and sexual natured behavior exposed towards children was a crime?

Had this been a pro feminist group, rather than a mothers group .... I am sure this man would have been hung by now and the law changed.

Must he masturbate in public. Sex supposed to be a private thing. Maturbation is sex. Let him do it inside. I think he is just trying to provke pple.

......'the man's support staff is adamant that he doesn't have any such tendencies.'

He has a support staff???? What, a flasher club or something?

@Ranjit T Edward

I assume he has some sort of handicap and the "support staff" are people helping him get along.

Agree with #4. A "support staff"? This raises any number of strange and funny issues. It does seem that waving your wand at the public, and obviously being seen by that public, should be a crime of some sort. And, one would also expect that the Swedish police would be on this in an instant, since the weapon involved is neither a gun nor knife. Perhaps, they just don't want to seize the evidence.

The support staff aren't doing a very good job if he is standing on his balcony masturbating at kids.

He needs to be locked up if he is unable to behave according to local standards. I also thought this would be a crime and he seems to be doing this frequently. In the US the book would have been thrown at him.....me thinks........amybe not in San Francisco.

Maybe he should go to another country and see if Sweden will bring him back for questioning...
19:59 August 9, 2012 by Decedo
Easy solution: Hand out air rifles to his neighbors and dare him to step out on the balcony again!
21:55 August 9, 2012 by dizzymoe33
Just get everyone to go out onto the balcony and start laughing at him maybe he will stop?!

Remarkable! Back in Australia this bloke would be carted off by the cops & never seen in the neighbourhood again.

If anything this would be to protect the guy from the Fathers of the neighbourhood children.

If anything drives me up the wall in this country its the whinge/complain but do nothing attitude.

@ Nifty

Why don`t you do something instead of just complain?

One well aimed rock thrown at his nether regions, will cure his predilection for standing on the balcony to masturbate. Pervert!

My son just got a six hundred kronor fine for parking the wrong way round outside our home in a quiet backstreet of a small town. This guy jacks off on his balcony in front of women and kids in the city and everyone lets him get on with it !

Sweden is a truly odd society.

Gosh, what a self-righteous mob of uptight pricks we have here -- a crazy person playing with his appendage, and suddenly we get a flash coalition of mother hens, law-and-order nuts, rock-throwing and air-gun-shooting haters, and indignated parents of parking cowboys.

Great stuff folks, you must be what made this country great. Oh, wait...
