Reinfeldt presents plan for 2014 election fight

Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has underlined the need for the four party Alliance to develop a joint 2014 election manifesto, welcoming Centre Party leader Annie Lööf's invitation for talks at her Småland home.

"I welcome her initiative and invitation," Reinfeldt wrote in a debate article in the Dagens Nyheter daily on Saturday.

Reinfeldt underlined the importance of the Alliance coalition sticking together and proposed a cross-party committee to develop a joint manifesto for the 2014 election.

The Alliance was formed following a meeting at Lööf's Centre Party predecessor Maud Olofsson's home in Högfors in August 2004 and the joint platform led to success at the 2006 and the 2010 elections.

Reinfeldt devoted much of his debate article to defending the Alliance government's record, focusing on key income tax cuts and stable state finances.

"Our reforms have fundamentally changed Sweden for the better," he wrote.

"The work ethic has been restored. Employment has increased, social exclusion decreased, far fewer are currently on sick leave, and in contrast to previous crises people have stayed in work."

Reinfeldt however recognised that the government needs to show "humility" in front of the challenges that remain and pointed out that there is much left for the Alliance government to do.

Among other things the Moderate Party leader observed that unemployment remained unacceptably high, pointing out that the young and foreign-born are faced with particular challenges.

Reinfelt laid out his suggestions to his government colleagues - Jan Björklund, Annie Lööf and Göran Hägglund - in preparation for the 2014-2018 parliamentary term.

He proposed working groups to develop Alliance policy, a joint manifesto, an ideological platform to develop a framework of shared values and an election committee responsible for managing the campaign.

This incompetent buffoon even believes in his own lies. Unemployment has gone up, but he deducts the 49,000 unemployed that are forced onto Fas 3, and those who take up studying because there are no jobs. Heath care is deteriorating rapidly due to huge cuts, the gap between rich and poor is at worst in modern times and he believes that Sweden has changed for the better. The only people better off in Sweden are the likes of him and his tax dogging pigs.

"likes him" as of working people? Fas 3 has huge amount of "freelancers" who refuse to work for corporate "pigs" and would like to express their personality through a job that fits their core being. Not actually people who cannot find a job.

Social democrats approach is to actually create a situation where the working class is slaving for those who are "stressed" and must stay at home. Reinfeld maintained an excellent economic situation in the most difficult times since the WWII. He avoided getting into huge national debts and Encouraged spending which actually saved Sweden. Only the fact that he smashed the social democrats directly AFTER the economic turmoil should say something.

Yes, let us hope for a majority government of SAP, V, FP and MP. And four years after that the table will have been made for a meal on blood and gore. It might be just the ticket. Cause this sorry place is gonna have to get worse before it can get better. Alot worse. And fast. I think the left is the only force that have a chance of acomplishing this while there is still time.

Some in Sweden may not think Sweden's economy is doing well, if not they should come to America (aka Obamastan) and see a great country being destroyed by an anti-western dictator.

Löfven, having had his election campaign education in Obama's Chicago, will beat the hell of Reinfeldt and the more thelocal shows baldy's face with a smile and presenting lies in the name of statistics won't save the trailing-alliance-in-the-polls from losing this election. The left has woken up in the Europe and the pattern will continue in Sweden.

-Reinfeld maintained an excellent economic situation in the most difficult times since the WWII. He avoided getting into huge national debts and Encouraged spending which actually saved Sweden. -

Not how I see it. Rather than -maintain- I would say -dismantling- the excellent economic situation! Governments through the 1990s and early 2000s built this excellent economic situation, which also has its roots back into the policies that dominated Sweden during the 20th century. However, the current government's policies have started to break down those foundations and we can see that not only in the health care system and unemployment, as Great Scott, points out but also in the education system and the defence (I notice a recent survey put confidence among Swedish army officers in the Government's defence policy at 25%).

Sweden had more forward looking policies through the 20th century and a more equal society that the US. The equality in Sweden contributes significantly to Sweden's success and the current government has started destroying that equality as well. Hence, we do not have as bad a situation as the US. But as we head towards more sever problems during the next 40 years the current governments erosion of the foundation of Sweden's success well bring Sweden more in line with the economic problems of the US.

If you want to understand why Sweden became such a success and has such a strong economy have a look at : - The Spirit Level: Why More Equal Societies Almost Always Do Better - by Prof. Richard G. Wilkinson.

And for an overview of the coming problems and why our current government has set us up for a worst situation in the future have a look at : - 2052

A Global Forecast for the Next Forty Years - by Jorgen Randers, Club of Rome.

- will beat the hell of Reinfeldt -

I'm not so confident. People have a short term, stupid nature and I think most people will look with a short term, narrow focus and see they have more money in their pockets and will think, therefore, Reinfeldt has done a good job. No idea of what went in to get us here nor any idea of what will come our way.

As Noam Chomsky says : -The general population doesn't know what's happening and it doesn't even know that it doesn't know -
