Moderates make early push for 2014 election

Together with its coalition partners, the Moderate Party is starting early in its bid for electoral victory, branding itself as Sweden’s new workers’ party and unveiling a "Hello Sweden" campaign nearly two years ahead of the 2014 elections.

According to party secretary Kent Persson as well as strategy expert Schlingmann, employment and economy will be deciding questions in the next election.
Persson and Schlingmann are convinced that those who win the voters’ trust in these areas will also win the election. Persson also pointed to integration as an important question.
The Moderates are convinced that for the current centre-right governing Alliance to prosper, inter-party cooperation among the Moderates, Liberals, Centre Party, and Christian Democrats has to continue to develop.
“The overriding goal for the election in 2014 is to win support for a majority government for the Alliance,” the strategy reads.
Among the initiatives touted by the Moderates is a web-based panel of 90,000 participants dubbed Hallå Sverige ('Hello Sweden').
The panel is designed to boost interest in party politics and has a goal of mediating 900,000 exchanges among individual voters.
