Webcam paedophile jailed for three years

A 27-year-old man from eastern Sweden was sentenced on Tuesday to three years in prison for child pornography crimes, after bullying 60 young girls into sending him nude images online.

The man was convicted of sexual abuse towards children and sexual assault and must pay damages of over 400,000 kronor ($60,050), wrote the Uppsala District Court in a statement.

The man also sent pictures and videos to the girls he befriended online, saying that they featured him abusing his daughters. The judge described this material as "particularly ruthless". The kids appearing in the films were not his children.

The 27-year-old suspect was accused of convincing 57 girls aged between ten and 13 to send him explicit photos of themselves or to undress for him in front of a webcam.

“He nags at them until they send him pictures,” the prosecutor said during the trial, which began in August.

Police tracked the man down by tracing his IP address and then raided his house in the beginning of February. Officers then found a large number of pornographic images and films in his mobile phone and on his computer.

According to the police, the man has had extensive contact with several young girls, some as young as between 10 and 13 years of age, and all from different parts of Sweden.

Computers and a mobile telephone belonging to the suspect revealed "a lot of images and many child pornography films," said a statement from the prosecutor.

Parents to the affected children were sent a letter by the police informing them of officers’ suspicions and that the children probably haven’t told them about what has happened.

The crimes were reportedly committed in Uppsala between 2009 and 2012.

3 years? what a joke - headline 3 years later.... child raped by man with previous convictions ... who are these judges? they should all be fired

Sweden needs to step up a bit when it comes to convictions, they are way to lenient. Once a pedophile, always a pedophile. 3 years is certainly not enough time for this crime against children. We must be able to protect our children at all times and if we cannot then we expect our government to step in an pose harsh sentences on those who harm them physically and mentally

yes and 3 years in jail will make him stop -_-x.

60 kids with trauma, guy should be locked for 10 years and then undergo some serious treatments. and after that monitored for life, no one that does such a thing can be just "cured".

where are the parents of the 10yo girls videoing themselves naked for a stranger?

the story starts out with 57 girls between 10 -13. then goes on to several girls as young as 10 - 13?

what is going on in the world when young girls will get naked for a stranger?

The problem is everyone jumps on the judges and say why did he/she give such a stupidly short sentence but its not the judges that set length of sentences its governments.

Yes, I agree some judges do seem to give the minimum instead of maximun sentences but they can only work within the perameters of the law which is now dictated by Brussels and the "human rights" act.

This person is obviously very dangerous and will probably go on to rape and kill, all the signs are there but thanks to the " liberal bleading heart" brigade getting prison sentences reduced and giving prisioners "rights" this is where we are.

Plus where were the parents of the girls, obviously no monitoring going on as to what their children are up to on the computer.

There is now a suggestion here in the UK that teachers teach 10 year old about porn in school......WHAT.....are you for real....how about teaching children to to be proficient in the three R's.....absolutely disgusting.
