Wife of credit agency boss pockets millions

Financial investigators are looking into a contract between Swedish Export Credit Corporation (Svensk exportkredit, SEK) and the wife of one of its top bosses.

The agency has a consultancy deal with the company Encyclia, owned by Katarina Jonsson Kamperin, the wife of the agency's risk analysis chief Per Kamperin.

They both declined to comment on the matter when contacted by the business daily Dagens Industry (DI), which claims she has a second, similar deal with the agency through the company Consilator.

The consulting deals are reportedly worth several million kronor.

“Of course we have to look into all the circumstances surrounding this,” Uldis Cerps at the Swedish Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen) told the paper.

The agency has in turn defended its employee.

“Per Kamperin didn’t take part in the decision-making process when we bought the services of Encyclia and Consilator,” the agency’s deputy press secretary, Edvard Unsgaard, told DI in an email.

The agency has declined, however, to make any of the invoices public. A spokesperson told DI that they are not bound by the Swedish principle of allowing public access to official records (offentlighetsprincipen).

Editor's note: A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the case concerned the Export Credit Agency (Exportkreditnämnden).

Completely wrong in the article. This does NOT concern Exportkreditnämnden/EKN (The Swedish Export Credit Guarantee Board) it concerns Svensk Exportkredit /SEK (The Swedish Export Credit Corporation! Big difference.
