Foster child rapist jailed for eight years

A 61-year-old man was sentenced to eight years in prison by the Attunda District Court on Tuesday for raping two young children who were in his care, one of whom was just four years old.

The children, who were aged 4 and 6 at the time of the incidents, were in the man’s care at a foster home in Stockholm.

“It was the sentencing that I had insisted on, so I am satisfied with the ruling,” said prosecutor Isabelle Bjursten to the TT news agency.

The man confessed to possessing child porn, which he at times showed to the young victims while he masturbated.

He also photographed some of his own sexual crimes.

Apart from being convicted of rape, he was found guilty of child pornography crimes and sexual molestation.

The court said in a statement that the man's behaviour was "particularly reckless" as he had taken advantage of the children's defenselessness.

Meanwhile, the 61-year-old’s lawyer believes the punishment is unreasonably harsh.

“I think eight years is far too long, so I’m recommending that he appeals the whole thing,” Palle Källström told TT.

The two children will receive 375,000 kronor ($56,200) in damages.

I am confused with Swedish Law. Is this possible that 2 rapes of these young children nets only 4 years each in prison? This can"t be. He should be jailed for the remainder of his natural life and I hope he is continually raped by the inmate population there.

The lawyer thinks the punishment is too harsh...wonder if he has children?

The article omits to mention that he had been in the fosterparent business for 20 years.

Could be a contributing factor to the harshness, perhaps.

Does the Swedish public support such apparent leniency for terrible violation of children of tender years by one supposed to protect the children?

Actually I am surprised he got 8 years. For Sweden that is actually high. I love how the prosecutor said he was satisfied because he asked for 8 years. So which mentality is scarier the prosecutor thinking 4 years each is enough or the defense lawyer thinking it was too much. Either way Swedish people are messed up in the head.

I asked my swedish friend what they think about executing child rapists, they say no that is really mean. They should spend time in jail enough to cure them, then released because after that they will be cured and won't commit this crime again. And we shouldn't hold it against them because they were mentally ill. What about the kids they raped? Well they will get counseling and usually money.

The guy should be executed or spend his life in jail, which is not much.

Up until 1 year or two ago it was okay to go to the library and look at child porn. Because the government thinks people should be allowed to see child porn as long as they do not trade or make it. Insane, the whole progressive open-minded thinking is stupid and retared. Nihilists are stupid. There is right and wrong, but so many liberals say there's gray and reasons for why they do the things they do. Whatever.

in Sweden protection law for children, protects child. So it means that even if there is a slightest risk, even if there is no evidence, sort of there are no witnesses, there is nothing, but there is a risk of something happening, then the law, the social workers within the law are able to take the child to a social office and take them away from the family.

why are kids state property ?

Social service Role not going right in each situation in most cases they listening to child but not parents, giving more attention to child which further makes child strengthen in his thoughts, and if his imaginary world can´t become true so starts again complain about parents(my parents are not nice, not giving food, becoming angry),social worker are solving situation not problem.

in this case social took child from parent no one know what was situation, did social listen to parents, did social inform parent. so kids have been rapped now by foster ,so this was the solution of social what answer they can give to kids parents?

To give money as compensation to kids, morals u cant measure in money.
