Lazy guys and hairy girls spur Swedish love-rats

Swedish men thinking about having an affair say they hate ill-tempered women, while women detest their partners being lazy, according to a dating site's review of what Swedes hate the most in their romantic relationships.

The Victoria Milan dating site, which targets the market for Swedes wanting to have an affair, asked more than 2,000 of its more than 200,000 Swedish members what they find most irritating about their regular partner.

Almost one in three men said that women being bad tempered and whiny is the worst thing they know, while about 10 percent revealed they find nagging the least attractive attribute in their relationships.

Other complaints included the woman being too close to her parents, being stingy, not cleaning enough, poor personal hygiene and snoring.

"I had no idea women had such poor hygiene!" Victoria Milan spokeswoman Dominika Peczynski told The Local.

"In my opinion, farting in front of a person that's supposed to view you in any kind of romantic or erotic way is a catastrophe."

Being too hairy also made the list, with 7 percent of men saying their partner's furriness was off-putting. Far more, at 13 percent, said their partner wasn't fit enough.

"We can't claim to represent the population at large, but we've certainly taken the pulse of Sweden's cheaters," Peczynski said.

"Our survey might really pinpoint why people go from being displeased to actually having an affair."

Women, meanwhile, spared little detail about what their men do to annoy them.

Almost one in five women said their partner being lazy set their teeth on edge, followed by him penny-pinching.

Just like their male counterparts, the site's female members also mentioned complaints about not cleaning the house enough, moaning, and poor hygiene. They also had opinions on how close their partner is to his parents.

But would-be female love-rats also grumbled that a partner who talks too loudly could also drive them to have an affair.

Almost 13 percent of Swedish women surveyed said their partners annoyingly raise their voice in conversation.

More than 7 percent said their husband's or boyfriend's bad jokes were embarrassing, while about 5 percent complained about their man not having nice clothes.

Almost 4 percent of female respondents said that leaving the door open when their male partners go to the bathroom was their most irritating trait.

"Of course, from a business perspective for our site, it would be bad if people stopped being unfaithful," Peczynski told The Local.

"But I really think that if people just plucked up the courage and talked to their partners, a lot of people would be happier in their relationship."
