Parents beat 9-year-old girl for 'being a witch'

Two parents from western Sweden are facing charges that they savagely beat a 9-year-old girl and forced her to drink her own urine because they thought she was a witch.

Prosecutors allege the girl's mother and stepfather kicked and beat the 9-year-old so badly that she lost consciousness as they attempted to exorcise evil spirits from her.

She was also forced to drink a mixture of her own urine and cleaning fluid until she vomited.

The couple also tried to administer electric shocks in the girl's mouth, the local Borås Tidning (BT) newspaper reported.

The attacks allegedly took place in 2007 and 2008, but the girl only spoke of the incidents long after they took place.

Social services removed the girl from the care of the couple several years ago and she has since been placed in a foster home.

The man and the woman charged for attempting the violent exorcism deny committing any crimes.

"As far as I know, they still believe she could be a witch," prosecutor Daniel Larson told the TT news agency.

He added that the girl retold of several violent attacks carried out by her parents, but when drawing up the indictment he focused on some of the most serious attacks which carry a longer statute of limitation.

"There is information about how she was locked up, forced to cut her hair and wear a wig, and how she was accused of being a witch," Larson said.

The case is the second in the past year in which adults have been accused of abusing children thought to be witches.

In the previous case, all four adults were acquitted by the district court. However, an appeal hearing is scheduled for April.

"The case is the second in the past year in which adults have been accused of abusing children thought to be witches." And in this case, as in ALL of the half dozen similar in recent years, the people involved are ALL from Sub-Saharan Africa.

Swedes need these voodoo people so they can feel superior.

These parents aren`t "from" west Sweden, more like west Africa. They might live in west Sweden but that`s different.
20:25 January 18, 2013 by Flutterbye
Yep....we have these kind of stories, musn't say where the parents come from, it might be deemed racist.

The world is going to hell in a hand cart.
20:53 January 18, 2013 by Svensksmith
I'm curious about the picture that accompanies the story. Are these so called parents Christians, or is there some other religion involved?

Either way, they certainly missed the point.

I cant remember seeing anybody this much concerned when reports of swedes sexually molesting children were published here. Not that the parents in this particular case are any better but ...

I call that double standards !

@svensksmith, you wish they say they are muslim so the article becomes intresting ;)
22:27 January 18, 2013 by viking87
Why you didn't write that the parents are non-swedish?

I feel bad for the swedish people.

Even the media are trying to manipulate people's minds. Because a swede will never do such a stupid thing! Calling this psychos swedish is stupid.

It is heartening to read most of the comments on this article. It shows people aren't stupid, and that we are tired of being manipulated by the media.

The human detritus scumbags that are the subject of this "news" article aren't "Swedes" they're IMMIGRANTS! There's NOTHING "Swedish" about them.

The parents are witch as well.Only a witch can tell who is a witch.

@Elias

So you're a mind reader now? Quick, what am I thinking about you at this moment?

Damn, you're good.
21:48 January 19, 2013 by mafketis
The parents are from sub-saharan africa where this kind of thing isn't that unusual.

Once more..... (for the willfully stupid) if you bring people into your country who believe that children can be witches into your country ...... THEY'RE STILL GOING TO THINK THAT CHILDREN CAN BE WITCHES!!!!!!!

Just being in Sweden isn't going to make them act like Swedes, they're still going to act like sub-saharan AFricans.

This is a pure propaganda article , even Goebbels would laugh at it !

We are talking about African voodoo witch rituals very common and wildly practised in the population that this globalist multicult government is imposing on the Swedish people that are soon becoming a minority. (100 000 pseudo refugees, Africans Turks and Arabs per year, already 2 000 000+++++ on a total of 9 000 000).

The owners of this anti Swedish paper can be prosecuted for hiding the truth and using a Christian rosary that represents white Christian European civilization for the past 1400 years.

Leftist a should be deported to Somalia , but don't dare to make my country become a savage hell !

mmm Maybe she was a witch,, lucky she was not burned in the main plaza for the pleasure of the others..

Not Somalia but Democratic Republic of Congo. It was difficult to find but here is the link to Yahoo South Africa article where the nationality of the parents spelled out, as is the fact that they applied for and used welfare cheque money to torture the girl. I am disgusted The Local would use the crucifix to muddy up the true nature and provenance of this crime. http://za.news.yahoo.com/parents-tried-exorcise-child-swedish-prosecutor-145614455.html

" I am disgusted The Local would use the crucifix to muddy up the true nature and provenance of this crime'

Hey, if the local doesn't engage in its usual manipulatons, then what's to stop you from engaging in thoughtcrime?

They're just doing their part to keep the public stupid and uninformed.

This is a link to a real short report regarding this story,

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/sweden/9811359/Parents-tried-to-exorcise-daughter-10.html

Absolutely pathetic from the local to report this story in such a way and to use a Christian Crucifix as the story picture, why not the flag of "The Democratic Republic of Congo"? I'm in no way a religious person but this is pretty low and offensive.

Sadly witchcraft stories like this are far too common in the UK amongst this migrant population, hard to get your head around it when you read the details of the cases, some of the sickest and most depraved behaviours possibly exhibited by humans.

At least give it the justice of accurate reporting....please!
