Hamrén says politicians ignoring a timebomb

National men's football team manager Erik Hamrén has accused the country's politicians of not taking seriously Swedish children's lack of physical fitness.

"I'm surprised no one is doing anything about this," Hamrén told TT.
"There's tonnes of scientific research that shows that exercise makes you feel better. I wonder what it will cost when kids and teenagers grow up in worse and worse physical condition. Not only what it will cost Swedish sports but society at large."
Hamrén said he would like to see more exercise included in the school curriculum.
He said he had brought the topic up with Swedish Sports Minister Lena Adelsohn Liljeroth but that she had asked him to speak with the education minister.
"What I can see in football is that we have fewer and fewer new players," he said.
