Yohio and Lindgren in Melodifestivalen win

Japan-inspired glamrocker Yohio and ice hockey-playing crooner David Lindgren claimed the first two spots in Sweden's Melodifestivalen final after winning the heat in Karlskrona on Saturday.
Teen pop star Yohio, who dresses like Lolita and plays guitar like Hendrix, has made a bit of a name for himself in Sweden in recent months after it emerged that he was big in Japan and adept in Japanese.
Yohio's rock ballad Heartbreak Hotel was performed with an energy and force enough to persuade the television audience that the Sundsvall teen should be part of the line up in the Melodifestivalen final in Solna on March 9th.
Hot favourite David Lindgren was the first to claim his spot with his energetic dance number Skyline.
Veteran soul singer Eric Gadd's Vi kommer aldrig att förlora (We're never gonna lose) will get a second airing, along with Cookies and Beans' Burning Flags.
The Karlskrona heat was however beset with technical problems, the most glaring of which occurred when Yohio's win was revealed on television screens prior to being announced by the presenters.
The event's organizers Sveriges Television will have a further three heats - in Gothenburg, Skellefteå, and Malmö respectively - with which to iron out any teething problems in time for the Eurovision final in Malmö in May.
