Subway robber suspected of Paris killing

The man who robbed a drunken man in Stockholm as he lay on the subway train tracks is now suspected of killing someone in Paris in 2011, after a French television viewer recognized the thief from security camera footage.

The 28-year-old thief made headlines worldwide in September when he left a drunken man on the train tracks after picking his pockets at the Sandsborg metro stop in southern Stockholm.

Minutes later, the robbery victim was hit by a train and has since had part of his leg amputated.

Now, a French television viewer has said he recognizes the man from security footage from a 2011 killing in Paris. The French citizen alerted friends in Sweden, who then contacted the police about their friend's suspicion that the subway robber was a wanted killer.

The 28-year-old is now suspected of manslaughter, according to Johan Sone of the National Bureau of Investigation (Rikskriminalpolisen, NBI).

"Swedish and French police have worked together and have succeeded in connecting the man who is currently in custody for the aggravated subway theft to aggravated assault and manslaughter in Paris," he told Sveriges Television (SVT).

"He is suspected for a crime that took place in January 2011."

The thief, a Tunisian citizen, was sentenced late last year to 18 months in prison for aggravated robbery,

After serving his sentence he will be extradited to France to face an investigation and potential charges.

And that imbecile, the Swedish privacy minister (or whatever he is the minister of) complained last year when the footage of the robbery in the subway station was made public by a Swedish TV show.

That footage not only led to his rapid capture in Sweden, but now appears to be instrumental in bringing this sack of feces to justice for a murder in Paris.

In addition to a privacy minister who would refuse to allow the public to assist an underresourced police force to assist in apprehending the criminal, we also have the brilliant Swedish justice system, which was so naive in their sentencing of this psychopath that their sentence allows him to return to Sweden after 5 years abroad.

I bet the looney left defenders of criminals' right to privacy will object to the extradition on the basis that his human rights were infringed when the footage was shown to the public.

Get this scumbag out of the country as soon as possible, he has already cost the taxpayers more than enough.

SD agents are working very hardly in a website for non swedish folks who are interesting to know about sweden´s daily news. good job guys with that I am sure you will be making history in 2014, for sweden to be first in Europe´s history after hitler, electing racist party. but make no mistake I really changed my mind and in 2014 I will vote for SD, not because I am fan of their nonsense policies, but to give you the chance to implement your program and lets see the results quickly no more waits.

Isn't that horrible, that showing the original footage helped everyone see that he is NOT a Swede.

These Immigrants come from places with NO morals. And the loving Sweeds think that they can teach them some.

Well, while they try to teach, everyone in Sweden suffers.

Sweden, WAKE UP, you are loosing your country. the most common baby name in Oslo last year was Mohamed!! They are malignant breeders, and plan to take over. That they are killing the whole planet with too many people doesnt matter to them. Allah will take care of those problems.

It feels very bad reading these news and how cruel some people could be. I have read somewhere that this guy's situation isn't legal while staying in Sweden. I am wondering why the police doesn't perform a routine of ID check in subways and public places as it is the case in Germany and France and some other EU countries. People like him should be arrested for investigation especially if they don't have passports or residence cards.

And then comes the biggest joke of the sentence given by the Swedish court. One year 8 motnhs for what? Will that give poor Johnny the possibility to stand again on his feet? Will that stop Johnny from hating Tunisians for the rest of his life? Of course not!

Maybe instead of telling the government that these people coming from places with "no moral" should by no mean enter Sweden, to put some more morals into their justice system. Because I can ensure you that this creature can be sentenced to a lifetime prison if he's ever gone through the Tunisian justice.

In the other hand, I recall in the early days of the Tunisian revolution, some of the most dangerous criminals have escaped from many prisons left unprotected by the guards who preferred to be home instead. Tunisian transition government that was established later couldn't do anything about it but warned the EU that some bad elements might enter its borders illegally, and eventually asked to have them back. The time this guy committed the crime in Paris comes few weeks after the start of the revolution.

Needless to remind myself and you that criminality has no country nor religion.

@InterceptorZone, why not go further and suggest something similar to ariernachweis or like the Vel' d'Hiv roundup? I think that would be much more effective, right? I mean, anyone with dark skin, regardless if he/she is a Swede, a tourist or a business person, should be harassed and be forced to produce a valid ID and a valid reason for their existence.
