Double silver medal joy for Sweden

Charlotte Kalla and Ida Ingemarsdotter claimed the World Championship cross country silver medal for Sweden in the women's team sprint in Val di Fiemme, Italy on Sunday, while Marcus Hellner and Emil Jönsson finished second in the men's event.

The Swedes came in 7.80 seconds later, with Finland's Riikka Sarasoja-Lilja and Krista Lahteenmaki taking bronze.
In the men's event, Russian duo Alexey Petukhov and Nikita Kriukov claimed the gold, crossing the finishing line at 21:30.98.
Kriukov sprinted past Jönsson in the home stretch and Hellner could not keep up the pace with Petukhov.
But the Swedish men came in second, before Kazakhstan's Nikolay Chebotko and Alexey Poltoranin, who picked up bronze.
The Swedes were pleased with their performances.
"Straight after crossing the finishing lines I had mixed feelings, but deep inside I was really happy we got a medal," Jönsson told Sveriges Television (SVT).
Kalla and Ingemarsdotter who won gold in the 2011 World Championships called Sunday's competition "a tough day at work".
"We should be really pleased with ourselves. We won a medal," said Ingemarsdotter.

The incentive to be the best, to win the Gold must be kept alive and you don't do this by saying things like "Won the silver", you don't do that, you "lose the Gold". Think Team GB and all the Gold we won at the olympics, nobody got any praise for coming second. Keep it that way...... so indeed, poor Swedish skiers, I wish you better luck next time when you might just win the Gold, however the hysteria surrounding these silvers just might take the edge you need away to perfom that little bit better next time round.
Ridicolous. Calling them losers is a joke. There is no shame to be happy about second place and still be upset for not coming in first. The one doesn`t exclude the other. If that`s your attituide then you should be disapointed that the UK only got 29 gold medals.
